From the author of the "delightful"( Booklist) Getting Warmer, a comedy about what happens when the best lei'd plans go awry.

When Jane Shea's boyfriend, Jimmy, invites her to spend a week at a swanky resort in Maui, she's thrilled-of course-but nervous, too. She worries about missing their flight. She worries about losing her luggage. It never even occurs to her that she might misplace Jimmy.

But paradise has a way of attracting trouble, and Jane hasn't even managed to learn the hula or paddle under a waterfall before Jimmy disappears. When the police suggest that Jimmy has drowned, Jane thinks things can't get any worse-but her troubles have just begun. This is one vacation the guidebooks never prepared her for.

this was an amazing book. i have become to own over 70 books and covers are usually what attract me to a book. this book proved to be amazing and didn't doubt what i bought it for. i have wasted my money on books i find terrible and regret quite a few books and i usually don't enjoy them like this one. i would recomend this book to anyone and the main character has the funniest of ways telling the story. the book probably wouldn't be any good if the book hadn't been wrote in first person. you feel like you are there with the character and feel her distress too. i completely recomend this book and i loved it!!!! please read it!!!! (you can look below to see the books and series that are my favorite and i beleive if you like them to, you will enjoy this book just as much. if you like these books, we have the same reading style and generally like the same books)

This book caught my attention with it's catchy name and cover art - and was a good, quick read. Not too much to think about - just perfect for a beach day/rainy day/ etc . . .

This was a very entertaining book, but to me it dragged in a few spots, but staying with it gives you a nice ending to contemplate. The location is so romantic(The Island of Maui) and Ms. Snow does a great job of bringing alot of detail in the scenes to make you feel as if you were really there. Even with Jane's obsesive anxiety showing thru in each chapter, its still a good chick-lit book to take your mind to a lovely location.

I read this book sitting on the beach in Maui with the same exact view on the cover. It was great, I would highly recommend getting this book if you have been to Maui or are going there soon. It is an easy read. It is a mystery that had me guessing til the end.

3.5 stars. A great beach read: a little mystery, a little humor, a little romance, and a little paradise all in one book.

In Southern California, thirtyish Jane Shea looks forward to her week long vacation with her boyfriend, Michael "Jimmy" James although the weeks just before she considers what could go wriong like the flu, food poisoning or shingles. However her fears seem for naught as Jimmy arrives at Jane¿s home an hour early to take them to the Orange County Airport to fly to Atlanta to catch their connecting first class flight to Maui.

In Maui, Jimmy takes forever to get the car rental and then the Hyatt insists they never made reservations; Jimmy tells her no other hotel on Kannapolis has a room so he arranged for them to stay at a studio condo. Soon after that Jimmy goes diving, but never returns. A distraught Jane fears her boyfriend drowned, but soon finds herself in trouble she does not understand as the real Michael James stands up as someone she never knew.

Jane is an intriguing lead character as she learns that all her obsessive anxiety disorder musings pale next to the reality of the problems she suddenly faces due to the activities of her missing boyfriend. Jimmy is an enigmatic person who the heroine (and readers) begins unpeels the mystery one petal at a time. Fans will enjoy this lighthearted romantic suspense romp everything that she anticipated happening on her vacation did not occur, instead much worse did as Jane learns the hard way between worrying over possible trouble and real trouble.
