Barnes & Noble - Steve Futterman
Who better to salute the great women of Broadway than Christine Andreas, one of today’s most accomplished theater and cabaret vocalists? Andreas is in tremendous form on a program of songs associated with divas of yore, touching on such iconic composers as Irving Berlin (“They Say It’s Wonderful”), Kurt Weill (“My Ship”), Jerome Kern (“Bill”), Cole Porter (“My Heart Belongs to Daddy”), and the team of Rodgers and Hammerstein (“A Wonderful Guy”). The highest compliment that one can bestow on this treasureable recording is that the singers that Andreas pays tribute to are never missed.

    Here's To Christine Andreas

Definitely the best solo CD on the market--in doing a tribute to the ladies of Broadway, Ms Andreas proves what a class act she is herself. If these ladies are her path to the stage, then she is the culmination of all the best each had to offer -- and then some. Ms Andreas possesses the finest voice on Broadway or cabaret today; and this CD captures some of her finest moments in song. The production values are top notch down to the tiniest detail. This is a fitting sequel to her first CD, Love Is Good, which stood in a class all its own, far above any ever made. Buy two, because you will wear the first one out.

The Best CD of the Year

When I first read that this CD was coming out I felt it had the possibility of being the best of the year. It certainly is. The lady can really belt a song and with that 45 piece orchestra every song soars. I hope it is a big success for her and everyone involved. The music industry may be in the doldrums but as long as wonderful CDs like this one come out things are not that bad.
