    The Highest Recommendation!

In this surprising story it feels like Poppet is giving us one piece of the puzzle at a time; letting us look at it, turn it over and figure out where to put it. We don't have any idea what it's going to look like when we are finished, but when it's done, we are both amazed and surprised.

In Heresy we learn of Micki, a gentle soul with spiritual gifts and four wonderful friends. Though they've all known each other for quite some time already, this book describes a painful, enlightening, and amazing journey they begin together. The word amazing comes to mind often here, and the temptation is to use it liberally.

Micki has known for many years that she possesses the ability to see spirits. She has honed her gifts and uses them to protect herself and others from spiritual harm. Unfortunately her efforts do not go unnoticed by the forces of darkness and she is soon the target of an sinister cult. The cult is after Micki, tormenting her physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The author has brilliantly written the tale in such a way that we are completely wrapped up in these characters' lives and the ways they protect and support each other. They are real to us. They are OUR friends and we feel like a sixth member of this group. It's tough to read Heresy at times, but we see here how truly ruthless evil can be.

Along with Micki, Uri, Rafe, Gabe, and Danny, we go to places we previously knew nothing about, coming out the other side with an understanding of the world and ourselves we never anticipated.

The dictionary says heresy is "doctrine at odds with what is generally accepted", with the implication this doctrine is false, and even blasphemous.
What if you found out the real truth was quite the opposite?
Definitely 5 out of 5 stars.

Completely different from anything I have ever read before!!!

First off I should qualify that I have LOVED every single Poppet book that I have ever read. There is something about her writing style that appeals to me on a very deep level. Her style might come accross as unusual to some people and if it does do not let it stop you, read on and discover what is around the bend because the best thing about Poppet is that she never lets you down.
Heresy is a book that is difficult to categorise! It has elements of several different genres but it belongs in a genre all it's own. If I had to categorise it I would say Paranormal romance with a good dash of Da Vinci code and a dollop of occult horror. Heresy was a rollercoaster from the moment I picked it up till the moment I read the last word and still wanted more. That is no easy feat in a book this long. Kindle users will get my drift when I say there are over 12 000 kindle locations in this book and you will definitely be getting your moneys worth.
The central character in this delicious story is Micki! Micki has spent her life honing her spiritual powers and engaging in the spiritual war between light and dark. In doing so she has gained the attention of a seriously sinister cult that will stop at nothing to destroy her ability to combat their evil by destroying her in the most horrific way possible. Micki is not alone in this fight though and she will need each one of her friends unique skills to make it through the insanity that becomes her world. Throw in some very capable and yummy police officers and you end up with a book that is too hot to handle. I am on the verge of gushing non stop about this book so I will spare you all and stop right now while I enjoy the very sweet knowledge that Heresy is only part 1 of a series and that Poppet will be releasing Part 2 very very shortly because really I love love loved this book!!! One last thought: Henceforth a Pog will always be called a Pog by me and Ya'll are gonna have to read the durn book to find out what that means :)

    Absolutely Intense

Micki and her friends fight to keep her safe and out of a cults hands. They fight evil spirits, they discover spiritual rooms and become a family in Aunt Viv's home. Poppet gives so much in this book. The story holds tons of amazing spiritual symbols and connections. She gives such details that you feel you are connected to each and every character. I love reading her books! I am always delighted to see new twists and turns throughout the stories and she never lets you down. Plus, she knows how to add in the oh-so-yummy men! Definitely a recommended book!!!!

    Ehhh

Ok i'll probably be blasted for this, but I just dont get it? The author is fine when it comes to giving descriptions of where the charactors are & what they're wearing, but you have no idea whats going on. There are no explanations given for why they have to go to aunt vivs house to clear out demons? Huh? And its really irratating when unlikely things...like micki being brutally beaten....skull & ribs cracked...eye socket bashed...poisened with three leathal poisens so that she has to be put in an oxygen chamber at the hospital...gets released the day after and other than physically hurting doesnt seem to have any psychalogical effects...the story idea is a really good one, but the whole book is written only as a big conversation between charactors. For me this was kinda painful but it does have over 1000 pages so its definately not too short for those of you who like long reads. Again...sorry to those who really loved it...remember its only one opinion...dont hold it against me.

    Amazing

This book is the best I've read in a long time. First impressions of the characters were a little annoying but just like getting to know people, I have grown to love them; each of their personalities and enjoy witnessing their relationships with eachother. The spirituality and science behind the story is believable, not cheesy to any degree. I found myself blown away by the intricicy to detail as well as the intensity and suspense that made me not want to stop reading. Very excellent.

    Glitch ruined the read

Chapter 29, pages 648-651 are "looped" and continue to repeat themselves over and over. You have to skip the last 9 pages of this chapter and go straight to chapter 30 if you want to keep reading. Bad part is something important happens in those 9 pages. Grrrr....this quirk ruined the experience for me. Otherwise it was a good read.

    Supernaturally good!

I have to admit, i was feeling not connected to the novel in the first chapters. However i was drawn in and fascinated as the storyline began to reveal itself amd could not put it down.

    I love it!

The best of this is that the characters involved the reader from the start. Micki and her friends are so real and normal, even as they learn about things that few sane people believe in. It’s a story that had me enraptured. 5 stars.
