Herodotus and Greek History, first published in 1982, examines the themes and preoccupations which form the basis for Herodotus’ style of history. The Athenian nobility, important protagonists in the context of what we know of his sources; the human and divine forces, which Herodotus understood as influencing the course of history; and the concepts of character and motivation are all discussed. Herodotus’ treatment of religious belief and oracles, politics and war, and his portrayal of certain prominent individuals are specifically investigated. The final chapter situates Herodotus in his historical context.

A war that will lead to more legends, more secrets, more fear.<p>We are a&real<_>isen, the only group made in secrecy that goes not after just one clan, but all.<p>To be allies with them is a hard and difficult task. No more mistakes will ever be made. No more traitors. Not even an evil group will have the advantage of gaining our trust quicker. Evil is sly. Sly is quick. Quick is sneaky. Sneaky can be traitorous.<p>Rising from the depths of he<_>ll itself, these cats have one sole purpose: To create fear, anger, and destruction.<p>They say good always conquers bad. One word: Elementals. We are Fire. You are Earth. Wynd feeds our flames by moving them around, spreading them everywhere. Only Watyr has a chance to stop us; but even then, it may be too late.<p>map;<br>Reses 1-3, 5-7, and several more reses down the pages is camp.<br>Res 4 is map, intro and simple rules.<br>Res 8 will be leaders den. {BEWARE of the deadly silence this place holds. If you successfully kill a cat, keep it to yourself. At moonly meetings, the Alegrin will ask you in private how many cats you killed, which affiliations they were in, and how old they seemed to be/rank. [I suggest not to lie, because if we ever find out there was no such cat, or that cat is still alive, you may find yourself in a very awkward situation.]<br>&starf You may not have kits unless you are a Sephil rank. If the leader or the Alegrin find out you do, be ready to face what comes next.<br>&starf You may roleplay up to four characters. I suggest only having two, because when we go on raids with single reses, three or more cats in one post just makes us look desperate.<p>ranks;<br>Leader (Eclipsa for female, Eclipsen for male) approves and passes all decisions. (S)he can not make a decision that will change the clan dramatically without discussing it with the Sephils. If (s)he takes control without talking over it more than three times, Neppits, Sephils, and the Alegrin can override him/her out of position.<br>Alegrin: Only one may have this position. It requires work and lots of experience. This is not an easy task, and getting this rank is even more difficult. The Alegrin puts focus on decisions and discusses it with the Sephils. (S)he may visit the leader's den at any time. (S)he is also in charge of keeping track of which cats killed who. (S)he may not tell anybody who killed who, under penalty of banishment.<br>Sephils: Only six in this rank. Sephils take part in encouraging the leader to pass an act. They have meetings whenever they feel the need to have a change. They are the seniors and are fairly trusted. Sephils (and higher ranks) may train Ammas.<br>Neppits: They are new to a&real<_>isen and will keep this position until they prove themslf in the painstakingly long wait to be trusted and able to be a Sephil.<br>Amma: Ammas are kits and apprentices. They hold no responsibilities until they are 6 moons, then they begin training.
