Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Maggie L. Schrock
Superhero-In-Training, Extraordinary Ernie, and his sidekick, Marvelous Maud, learn they have a chance at winning the Heroes of the Year award. Unfortunately, Pencil Pete, an evil villain, comes to Baxter, testing Ernie and Maud's chances at winning by drawing mustaches on signs all over the city. Together with their trainers, Ernie and Maud hatch a plan to wear disguises in an effort to catch Pencil Pete. Ernie and Maud suffer through trials and tribulations in an attempt to save the city. At the same time, they try to keep it together so they can win the Heroes of the Year award. An adorable story about the power of persistence and teamwork, Heroes of the Year is a must read for young boys. Ernie is the ultimate hero: an average young boy. Endearing illustrations only add to the charm of the story. Part of the "Ernie & Maud" series, Heroes of the Year is a stand-alone book. Reviewer: Maggie L. Schrock
