198 pages. Other reviewer said 700 pages, unfortunately was incorrect

This stand alone book has 198 pages and is the second in a series. I paid $2.99 for it. Another reviewer reported it has 700 pages. I do not know where he/ she got their numbers from, but that is a huge difference and totally incorrect. This police murder mystery takes place in 1995, even though it was published in October, 2014. The efiting was not perfect, but not so badly done, it was annoying. I read the first book and found it very interesting. This one was also good, but was much more tramatic and bloody. It was about the kidnapping, rape and murder of a young girl and the murder of a five month old baby boy. Both incidents made the police look terrible and were almost too graphic. There is quite a bit of violence in this book. The reader knows who and whydunit from the begining and follows the police as they try to solve the case. I had a hard time reading this book. Child abuse is an emotionaly hard subject for me to hear or read about. In both of these cases, insanity of family members is involved. For ages of at least 18 years old. More rooster lit, than chick lit. I am debating on continuing this series or stopping at this point. This book was very disturbing for me. If it had not been about children, I would have been fine with it.
