Edith Pattou is just an amazing author. Simply one of the best. At first when I started reading this book, it was very slow. It is slow at the beginning but KEEP ON READING!!!!!!!!! You seriously won't be sorry!!!! This book is awesome!!! One of my very favorites!!! Although, East was better, I thought this book was great!!!

Each person has their own song to sing, and he does, he really does! This is my all-time favorite book. What a page turner! You are engulfed in the story, and while you are reading you forget who you are. If you need a break, this book is a great place to turn. This would be a great novel for bookclubs, and teenagers who need self-relating charater. Look for what Pattou is saying beneathe the story. Read this and you just might be singing your own song.

I absolutely love this book. The story is amazing and as soon as I got I could not put it down. I love the setting it takes place in and the characters that live there, especially Brie. This is a must read book for all you fantasy readers out there!

Edith Pattou's way of writing lets you feel what the characters feel, see what they see. She can make the rest of the world go away. You will read the book as if you're there. She, her mind, is beautiful. Her stories are not symbols on a page. They are her own creation, her own imagination. They aren't something that can be described. As you read, you see this beauty, then you close the book, and its as if you've committed a crime, to lock something that amazing up in a realm with no escape. See this beauty in East, Heroes Song, and Fire Arrow.

This book, with its wonderful, believeable characters and amazing plot, is a perfect fantasy. The Irish lore and chilling villains keep you on your toes! Collun and especially Breo-Saight are definate, top of the line, heroic idols!

Edith's series is very good reading. She uses a lot of myhtical creatures, which I like in fantasy books, she uses believable characters with real emotions. Both of her Songs of Eirren book are great and I wonder of she'll come out with a third one.

Collun is a boy who lived on a farmhold. He thought he had a boring life, but everything changes when his sister Nessa is kidnapped. As he goes on his trip he makes new friends and even loses some. He also learns that he isn't just a normal boy. Collun turns out to be more important than he thinks. This book is filled with suspence and detail.

After reading East I eagerly tracked down this book in expectation that it would hold up to the standard I had come to expect from Pattou. Unfourtunatly I was very disappointed. I confess that after about three chapters I found myself uninterested in reading more. At this point I returned the book to the library. The story starts very fast and I found that the main characters were unoriginal and seemed to be lacking in substance in the way of distinguishing character traits. Overall I would say that this book is worth reading if you can get into it. Several of my friends have expressed a deep love of this book, but I didn't like it.
