A textbook for a course for students in the second or third year of undergraduate chemistry study, but more advanced material suitable for graduates is also included. Joule (chemistry, U. of Manchester) and Mills, a scientist in the private sector, introduce the fundamentals of hetercyclic reactivity and synthesis. They provide answers to the exercises.
