Steamy Read Set In An Intriguing World

Hidden Depths is an intriguing paranormal story with a diverse group of paranormal creatures written by the Queen of Steam, Emma Holly. It focuses of the unique world of the wereseals, a world full of magic and mythological creatures. Their world has some similarities to ours and is ruled by royalty.

Into this magical world, the Forsters' are thrown. And with a marriage that was looking for a little something to spice it up, they get more than they expected. James and Olivia are extremely loving but are open-minded to other possibilities. They don't see these other possibilities as damaging to their relationship though. They're secure enough in their bond to experiment.

Enter newly-crowned King Anso. He feels the weight of his new responsibilities at the same time as his body's need to mate with the one nature chooses for him. It's led him to kidnapping Olivia and bringing her to his world to become Queen. Up until now, his only sexual experiences have been with men per their culture. Once he finds Olivia though, he has no intention of giving her up. No amount of political maneuverings or other's jealousy will sway him. He's lucky to have his long time lover Ty to support his decisions and to add strength to his new relationship. Both of these men are strong and sexy and I can understand why Olivia and James became so enamored with them. Anso is the more serious of the two with a wall surrounding him. Ty is the joker, thought of as lower class because of his lineage and long list of conquests, but he's extremely likable and loyal to his true love Anso.

Olivia and Anso get together immediately upon meeting and it's extremely hot, as is every other time they're together. James and Ty also get together quickly. Their scenes are steamy as well and even though things happen quickly they're still believable. All the sexual interludes are hot and vary between m/f, m/m, m/f/m, and a menage amongst all four of them. These scenes occur frequently and at times overwhelmed the storyline. I wish there was a bit more character development, particularly with the villain who was very stereotypical and one-dimensional, and a bit less sex.

The world of the wereseals is unique and eye-catching. It has some elements of the human world but is much more exotic. There's magic and dragons and other kinds of creatures existing in their world who try not to enter the human realm. Once Olivia is made Queen though the interactions have to happen since they have a daughter. This opens up all sorts of storyline possibilities for future books.

This was a sexually intense book set in a visually intriguing world. The sexual interludes are steamy and creative and very unique to Ms. Holly. This book is part of a series but it can easily be read on it's own. For those looking for something a bit out of the ordinary look no further than Hidden Depths.

    I want my money back

James and Olivia Forster have been happily married for many years. A harmless kink here or there spices up their love life, but they can¿t imagine the kinks they¿ll encounter while sneaking off to their beach house for a long hot weekend. Anso Vitul has ruled the wereseals for one short month. He hardly needs his authority questioned because he¿s going crazy from mating heat. Anso¿s best friend and male lover Ty offers to help him find the human mate his genes are seeking. To Ty¿s amazement, Anso¿s quest leads him claim not one partner but a pair. Ty would object, except he too finds the Forsters hopelessly attractive. Why would 2 people who are happily married for 20 years and still having great sex to boot need to add two new people to there relationship was the ? I asked myself when reading the excerpt so I bought the book thinking this is going to be so great it wasn't great it was okay I will not resume the story. It would spoiled everything.I thought that the acceptance of this new world was way too quick for me. I would have loved more development, more tension maybe. We also have a plot in the background but very predictable. Here also, I would have preferred to be kept on my toes. This ménage is about three guys and one woman. All three are virgins one way or another. Again I will not explain in details. In a way it is a true foursome in romance because they all fall in love with each except for Anso and Jame they never have sex in this book and I don't recall them professing there love for each we never read a true foursome sex scenes: they are all in the same bed but it is either a MM, a MF even a MMF with one looking. I was a bit surprised at that because Emma Holly is sure not shy to describe the MM sex scenes so why not a dual penetration and a BJ at the same time? I am not sure. But you will not read sex scenes very detailed. It is still hot but not steamy with much detail. I would ask for my money back but you can't get a refund on a ebook.

Emma Holly, how I love thee ways...... *Whew* "Hidden Depth

Emma Holly, how I love thee ways...... *Whew* "Hidden Depths" is part of Emma's steamy paranormal "Hidden" series and wow... Does it ever live up to Emma's other works of literary art!! In this novel, Emma introduces us to the wereseals, which are a bit of an unusual species, even for my paranormal loving genes, but she does it with flair & had me instantly addicted to this new world... The wereseals live in Oceana, which is a part of her Fae created world that includes the city of Resurrection, (found in her other Hidden novels & mentioned in my past reviews), a beautiful, Atlantis-like city, deep under the ocean waters... Anso Vitul is the new king of the wereseals in Oceana... His body & soul are calling strongly for him to find his mate & he ventures off in search of her, along with Ty, his best male wereseal friend (in many ways:). His internal radar pulls him toward Olivia Forster, a very human female, who also happens to be married to the long time love of her life, James... Circumstances end up with Anso deciding to bring both Olivia & James back home to Oceana, and also very nearly into the arms of certain death. Olivia cannot resist the magnetic pull that Anso wields over her body... And neither can James, nor Ty... Olivia & James must discover if they are capable of becoming part of Ty & Anso's world or if they feel like they belong solely in the human world. Their journey of discovery pulls them into the arms of a madman, set out to destroy the world of Oceana along with the newly awakened love between Olivia & Anso, who are destined soul mates.. There are many other surprises, twists & turns thrown into this novel that makes for one amazing read! I'm personally used to many different types of paranormals and usually can make it thru most just fine, but I will warn you that Hidden Depths is very graphic & even made a jaded long-time reviewer like myself blush immensely and get extremely hot under the collar! If you are a fan of paranormal erotic romances, then do not pass this book up, because you will fall head over heels in love with the amazingly sensuous and intensely graphic worlds that Emma Holly creates.. This is one of the best erotic romances I have ever read and I gladly recommend it to anyone who desires a little excitement in their life... As always, Emma Holly does not disappoint and you should take a peek at her website and check out the other amazing novels this fabulous author has written..

    Highly recommend

I love this book and thought that the novella she wrote as a follow up for this story was a great touch it, the book is called "Date Night". I liked this book because it had a different spin than most of her books, where the man or men find the woman. In this story there is a happily married mature couple that find two extra lovers to form a foursome. The story works well and as always her erotic scenes steam up the pages and leave you panting for more. I love the book but felt like the end was a bit rushed and could have been better written.

    Very interesting story

I love Emma Holly but I just didnt think even she coul pull this off. I mean wereseals ...... with a human. But she di it as only she can this story was fascinating and hot hot hot. I am not going to go into a descriprion of the novel you can get that elsewhere but if you are willing to use you mind and give it a chance you wont be disappointed. This does have alot of sex in it m/m m/f m/m/m/f. Photographic imagination is a necessity. I would love to see more on these characters.

    Hidden Depths by Emma Holly

The fae have created a pocket between our world and theirs where magic can exist. We were introduced to part of that pocket in Hidden Talents where we met the hunky werewolves of the Resurrection Police Dept. (Whom I hope we shall revisit sometime soon please). In Hidden Depths we meet the were-seals of Oceana.
The king is dead long live the king. The new King Anso of Oceana is hit hard with the mating heat and takes his lover Ty and two guards to search for his mate. Much to his dismay he finds her making love to her husband on the beach. The mating heat is on him and he can't not take her so he takes her husband too to make her kidnapping easier on her. There is a chain reaction of chemical and physical attraction between the new king, his lover Ty, James and Olivia Forster. It seems the mating heat affects them all. Trying to deal with it and its ramifications while trying to shore up his political standing among those who seek to use or remove the new king makes for a great read.
I don't know how Emma Holly does it but I hope she keeps on doing it. This is a smoking HOT read and a great story. Warning: scorching mm, mf, & mmmf sex under the seas.
