Okay where do I begin. I've been following the Hidden Gem series

Okay where do I begin. I've been following the Hidden Gem series from the very beginning and didn't have a problem with any of them. Let me rephrase that I didn't have a problem with the first Hidden Gem until I read the sequel than I could start pin pointing things about the original that was lacking for me as the reader. The same goes with the sequel DITR and No Stone Unturned. I thought the sequel made up for everything the original lacked and the plot thickened who would Gemma choose, and what direction was Queen Bee’s career going. But No Stone Unturned took the series to a whole different world from beginning to end totally loved it, probably one of the best YA books I read an a long time there was so much happening at once but the author still had smooth transitions and didn't look amateurish. This leads me to EPHIO and thinking what the f*** did I just read. India Lee took everything totally backwards the characters were all over the place so was the plot for that matter and instead of being left with a good attitude towards the book I was left with a headache and just confused. Let me break it down for you below may contain spoilers (believe me when I say it will leave you confused as well)

    * Gemma I guess is taking a break from being Queen Bee (like the singing and etc.) So correct me if I'm wrong isn't this what the whole series is about her being Queen Bee not a fashion designer. If I was looking for that I could have read a different book.

*Tyler her supposed boyfriend was ripped apart shred by shred (you don't have to agree with me here) I knew from the very first chapter this would not end well for the character. Not only was he so out of character, but towards the end I couldn't even blame him anymore, me as the reader was actually cheering him on and that's a bad thing. Since the author obviously from the first page has turned him into an antagonist and did a character assignation on him. So he no longer has redeemable qualities but is seen as clingy, bitter, and jealous. And in my opinion Ms. India Lee has made him see Bi-Polar. But who knows what’s going to happen to him in the 5th Hidden Gem book.

*Let's not even get started on Gemma she was never that like able from the beginning let’s be honest. But you stuck with her, because she’s the main character. On a positive note India Lee at least developed one of her characters for the better. I wouldn't have said yes to the proposal either. But my god did she ever have her head on straight she never knows what she wants. Make choices their not that hard hopefully with the three year age progression she will know what and who she wants. Thinking back to EPHIO she was the main cause of my headache. Every one has to admit it her acts with Damian would sound suspicious to any one not there. I think Tyler's actions were justified. And Damien can't let Gemma go. And all I want for Damian is to jump ship and get lost in an island somewhere.

    * Another thing the men in Gemma's life can you say yawn!! I was never a fan of DAMIAN to begin with his character was boring and supposedly just a temporary replacement until she got Lucas. And speaking of LUCAS WHERE THE HECK IS HE!!! The author is trying to act like it was Gemma and Damian that had this original love story, but what about Lucas he was her beginning infatuation. Not saying I like Lucas that much but OMG. Literally India Lee excludes anyone who wasn't getting work in the entertainment industry (if you’re not a part of the celeb game thenyou’re not in the game at all) I maybe am acting a little biased, because I liked Tyler better, because he had a personality. And wasn't boring as sin! For Damian he is so unlike able just disappear somewhere it doesn't matter where you go just leave gracefully (ooh brain storm go play some kind of European sport there far away where no one will miss this insipid character and take the supposed irrelevant character Lucas with you)

    * All minor characters where to start. Okay I liked the character Zoe better than the main character and again that’s a problem. But India Lee got this character right and pegged her perfectly to fit into the mold of celebutantes who do some acting on the side to stay relevant. But sadly Zoe can't carry the novel, but really India Lee needs to get on it with making her a spin off novel. I'd read it!! Gavin Gemma's brother was so funny in the first Hidden Gem, but has just dwindled down to be annoying but not so annoying that he needs not be in the series anymore. Thanks to the author giving him one line here and there to make some kind of unfunny joke. So I'm not bothered with him that much. Leah and Kate I believe those are her friend’s names yawn. Does anyone notice how she makes the regular friends and regular boyfriends boring and no personalities? But the funny thing is does anyone have a problem with it because I sure as heck don't they have little appearance time Kate and Leah thank goodness. India Lee literary made their personalities the same dull, but excited for anything to deal with the characters with fame. I was often so confused between who was who but I just didn't care for them so much too even check (Not even for their stupid insipid problems). Moving on let’s see Madison got what she deserved never liked her from the beginning bullies never go anywhere especially if they are an adult now (SMH but that’s a whole different topic I'm not even going in to). Other characters I don't really care to review. Her stylists were funny as usual. I never cared for her Aunt that much just throwing that out there. Harper is okay I guess she has a personality and mystery but I don't care to even guess it she's kind of boring. And I think what made this book different than the others is it felt like it lost its spark whether from Tara C. being a no show or what. BUT I WILL SAY INDIE LEE WAS SMART TO SHOW HER FAMOUS FRIENDS MORE SHE KNOWS WHAT HER READERS WANT AND WHAT THEY DON'T. They want to be taken on a journey on how it really is behind all the FAME and glamour.

Good Tidings to ya'll who have made it this far down the review. I don't usually review stuff, but I needed to at least warn those unsuspecting buyers who love the series as much as I do there is no happy ending at the end of this novel. All you get are more questions than answers will they or won't they, will she do this or won't she. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. India Lee is a great writer while this book is well written; it’s just all over the place. Maybe she wanted to go for suspense, but it wasn’t my cup of tea (let’s just put it that way). And it's so weird that she made Gemma and Tyler break up a lot more people wanted them together than anyone else even on her quiz thing so that’s why I'm a little baffled. I started reading the novel because I knew I would like the character of Tyler and I stayed reading the other books for that same purpose. It’s rare when in the book description I’m like this is going to be a good book. I'm just throwing it out there that I think someone’s going to propose to Gemma she'll accept of course and the old guys in her life are going to come back and it will be Gemma's decision day. She will finally have to decide who she'll be with. I mean this is what the series is about love triangles everywhere forget Queen Bee lol!!! All I know is I'm still wondering if I can have my money back from this novel, and if the fifth is anything like this hidden gem book I won’t suppress the urge to not finish reading the book. I'll just forget about the whole series all together and for those of you who don't already know the guy I would choose for Gemma it would be Tyler at least you know he loves her enough to give everything he has up for to be with her. I thought it was sweet,

    Perfect

I loved this series. I could relate to it. Life is hard and doesnt always end perfect. So if your looking for a book that will touch your heart then you should read this series. Be prepared to buy them all. I am appreciated that she made these books affordable. I have read the first four books in less than four days. It sounds sad but the books just pull you in. These books are not full of sexual scenes but there are some in each book but they are not too descriptive. So make trust me and buy these books!

whoa - this one's a heartwrencher! i gotta say, going into this

whoa - this one's a heartwrencher! i gotta say, going into this book i was so not expecting to read something so realistic... i thought gemma's life would just get right past the stalker situation but EPHIO definitely shows that there are definitely repercussions from stuff like that! it is definitely an emotional ride this book. i really enjoyed seeing gemma's progression and how her life changes after the crazy drama - don't want to give away spoilers but i'm excited for her and her new life in the next book...

    It was ok

I loved the first three books in the series, but this one.... Meh. I would still get it, just because it's part of a series, and I'm definitly getting Diamonds are Forever once it comes out on the nook. I did enjoy it, but it wasn't anything spectacular.

    SPOILER ALERT

I think India Lee came up with a flawed plot here. Shhe seemed to have eorked too hard to come up with friction between Gemma and Tyler. I dee that the tabloids got to Tyler, but Gemma was a major issue in the relaationsip. Tyler had problems, too, but Gemma created most of them. I don't blame Tyler for half the stuff and was even rooting for him! And that's a bad thing, considering he's obviously the antagonist.

I'm hoping the 5th book is better...

    Good, but conflicting

Okay seriously the end sucked! I really hope she doesnt end up with Damian. He is more of a friend kind of guy. If she doesnt go back with Tyler, I would much prefer Lucas come back home! I think she should have gotten engaged to tyler though because HELLO! First just because you get engaged does not mean instant wedding and also he was so devoted and loving I would have yes either way! Cant wait for the next book because this one broke my heart!
