Meet the Author

Richard Harris' fascination with ancient civilizations started in the Anasazi cliff dwellings of Colorado's Mesa Verde National Park, where he guided tours during the summer while in college. When he is not climbing over mesa and browsing trading posts, he is writing travel books for publishers such as Ulysses Press and Fodor's.

Great Resource for BOTH New and Returning Southwest Travelers

The Southwest US is full of wonderful natural discoveries. This book helped me plan 5 trips to the area, each one fabulous because we didn't just hit the high points in the major travel books. The insights into
B and B's, the out of the way spots you might not choose when driving by, the great meals in new and old restaurants....... I could go on and on. I have been traveling in the Southwest for 15 years and each trip has been great because of this handy, packable tour guide. I just purchased my third copy, the prices, places and recommendations have changed over the years. ......need new ideas for our 2010 spring excursion.
