Overview

The truth is that everybody has a secret; some of them buried therefore being considered a hidden truth. One truth buried deep within our soul only to be released at a time when it seems that everything has hit rock bottom. Our hidden truths. Melissa Martin only has one and not only had she hidden it from herself, but from the one man that she truly loved.
Melissa’s son was abducted; her life shattered on her birthday, but she had to remain strong for her two girls and her husband. However, her marriage had been on the rocks for more years than not, and a week before the anniversary of her son’s kidnapping, her husband left her taking their daughters with him. It is at this time that the little truths started to appear causing Melissa to doubt what she had believed.
Family is a strong influence in her life and her faith renewed as she struggles to overcome the knowledge that her husband, Richard, had been keeping a secret from her before he ever proposed. How does she deal with the fact that he had been married before or that there is no documentation of a divorce? How does she handle her mother-in-law knowing about the marriage but not speaking up even after Melissa confronted her about a child that Richard allegedly had that was the same age as their son? Not knowing whom she could trust, Melissa relays heavily on her family and eventually a doctor that she had met as an intern at a dance.

Dr. Paul Penbrook’s help is met with resistance, and Melissa was not pleased at all with his regular visits. She had one thing on her mind and that was to reunite with her children. Finding out that Richard had been responsible for their son’s kidnapping, Melissa was both angered and relieved. Relieved that little Richie was alive and angered because Richard had been lying to her while pretending to put their money into a search that was not real. Richard was not only toying with what Melissa had believed and loved dearly, but also with Paul, because Melissa’s one hidden truth was that she was in love with Paul. Richard knew this, but it didn’t matter. You see, Melissa could offer him the one thing that his first wife couldn’t and that was a child.

Meet the Author

I was born the middle child of six children. I was the only daughter of struggling middle-class parents in Greensboro, NC. I graduated from high school with no clue as to what I wanted to do with life. College was out of the question due to finances. I dove into working two jobs because I wanted to be on my own. When I wasn’t working, I was reading. A true addict to books; I would read five to six books at a time. It wouldn't be until later that I would discover my hunger to write. That want quickly turned into a need.In 1994, I made my first attempt and was quickly told that I wrote like too many other authors. I placed the story in a file and put it away. I thought for good. In the past year, I found that the thirst to write was not buried. I had just placed it on hold until my children had matured enough to entertain themselves. I had again read every book I had, so I took out my first story and rewrote it. Now I have started on my thirteenth novel with hopes of many more to come.Titles include: Finding Gracie's Rainbow, Finding Annie's Dream, Finding Sammie's Fandsy, Life's Gfit, Lost and Found, The Game, Deception, Rainbow of Roses, and The Key to her Heart.
