Windfall Island will thoroughly enjoy this return to the familiar craggy landscape of her Maine setting, and new readers deserve to discover this fascinating place.
The carefully structured plot is sound and the mystery element of the story grows organically to a startling, suspenseful conclusion. However, the best part of this book, by far, is the honest, challenging and tremendously passionate relationship that develops between this wary heroine and the charming stranger who turns her world around."—RT Book Reviews on Hideaway Cove

Meet the Author

Anna Sullivan was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, the seventh of nine children, whose claim to fame was reading five books a week in grade school. Needless to say, her obsession with the written word only grew from there-despite a short, and misguided, foray into the world of computer science (the "sensible" job path). She still lives in Michigan, with her husband, three children and two dogs whose life of leisure she envies but would never be able to pull off.

This is the second book in the series and I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. The mystery that begins in book one is still unsolved and now the focus is on Jessi Randal and her young son Benji. The romantic relationship between Jessi and Holden Abbott is developing but there are many twists and turns in their story. It's a great story with just enough suspense to keep you turning the page. I recommend this one!

I love this series! I think I liked the first book a bit more, but I still really liked this one. The only thing I don't like is how stubborn people are, but I get that is needed to cause the issues in the story. I enjoy the mystery aspect, and I really like that the characters from the first book are in this book as well. It does start off a bit slowly, but once it gets to some of the main plots it starts to pick up. I liked Holden and all his southern charm, and I think he is really good with Jessi. Definitely read the first book in the series before you read this one; since it's a continuation of the first book, but with different main characters. The romance is sweet, and it's kind of surprising how far the author goes in the end. It's definitely a good series, and keeps entertained till the very end!

This mystery, romance has it all!  Without reading anything by Ms. Sullivan before, I felt as though this book is part of a series, but I read it as a stand alone and I loved it!  Sometimes it takes the difficult times in life to bring us to the joyful times.  This story shows what it means to fall in love and the difference when you actually find someone who is your forever love!

This is the follow up book to Temptation Bay. I actually read the first book because I saw this book on Netgalley and it looked intriguing. It wasn't until I got it that I realized it was book 2. *desk plant* Oh well. So after reading the first book it was thrilling to be able to jump right into this one. Now of course, I have to wait for book 3 to find out exactly who is Eugenia Stanhope's descendants are.

We were introduced to Jessi Randal in the first book. Jessi is a single mom who works with Maggie at her Charter Service. Jessi manages the office, making sure that the bills are paid, the phones are answered and that the business continues to run while Maggie is in the air. Maggie know Jessi's worth and Jessi own's 10% of the company. Jessi had her son Benji when she was still in high school. Her boyfriend ran off, leaving Jessi with a child and no support.  Of course, Benji's paternal grandmother blames her son's leaving on Jessi and takes every opportunity to cut at Jessi, even though she hasn't contributed anything towards her grandson except demands to see him regularly. So Jessi lives the life of a good girl hermit, making sure that every decision she makes is in the best interest of her son Benji.

Holden Abbot came along at the end of the first book, called in by Dex to do the town's genealogy on the sly and try and figure out which family slipped Eugenia in as one of their own.  With the problems that happened to Maggie, they are trying to be as clandestine as possible and not point too many fingers.  After all, it's not just Jessi in the hot seat, but her son Benji as well.  Hold has this lazy southern charm that immediately sets all the women on the island to fluttering around him, but early on he locks his sights onto Jessi.  Their dance is spirited and fun to watch.

This was a fantastic follow up. I would strongly suggest reading Temptation Bay first, simply because their is a overall story arc that is being slowly uncovered piece by piece. With the addition of a addition of a third female, and the former best friend of Maggie and Jessi, we are still no closer to figuring out who the descendants are, all we know is who they aren't. This book kept me interested and intrigued throughout, 4 stars.

Holden and Jessica are an interesting pair. He’s old money, good looks and manners, and persistent as hell. She’s a small town girl, a single mom, and she’s not touching him with a ten foot pole.

At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.

Holden’s on Windfall to help search for the lost Stanhope heir. His time there brings him in close proximity with Jessica. Her determination to keep him at arm’s length makes him that much more persistent in his pursuit of her. Jessi’s not interested in a one-night stand or being someone’s vacation fling. Any man lucky enough to catch her has to be in it for the long haul, because she’s not willing to risk her heart or her son’s. Good thing Hold’s in it for the long run. It doesn’t start out that way but it ends up that way when Jessi and her son are placed firmly in the path of someone hell bent on making sure the Stanhope heir is never found.

Mystery and suspense, lies and secrets, lust and love made this story a delightful page turner that I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn’t just about treasure. It was about two people moving past heartache and taking a chance on forever; about trust and love and confidence; about healing and living.

Hideaway Cove, Anna Sullivan Review from jeannie zelos book revi

    Hideaway Cove, Anna Sullivan
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
I thought this sounded intriuging so put in my request. I like romance that has a bit of an edge to it – something extra to lift the story, and the missing heir mystery seemed a good fit.
So, when I began I was a bit confused and had to keep referring back to pages read, as there seemed to be mention of people and events as if the reader knew about them and yet...I didn't. Then I looked up on web and found this is a second book, and though the romance in each is separate and complete, the missing heir is a theme that runs through both. It wasn't a big problem and I picked up on what had happened fairly well as I continued with the story.
Jessi, is the protective mum of seven year old Benji, I can just imagine how being a single parent on a small island was. Luckily she'd got her best friend and business partner with her. Maggi is the pilot for the transport company they run, and she was the subject of the last book along with Dex, a PI looking for the missing heir(s). Now he's brought in help by way of geneologist Holden. Hold is a real Southern gentleman, a natural charmer, but he's having to work hard with Jessi. They're both attracted, but she is vehement about protecting Benji from hurt, and feels that as Hold will be leaving once his job over, she's not going to enter into anything. Slowly he wears her down, and when they do get together its explosive.
It's not a story of red hot, carnal, erotic bed hopping, but of a real romance, of the slow sensuality of glances and soft touches, of sweet kisses and then building up into white hot, sizzling passion. But that takes time and fits in with the gentle theme of the story, where there is a mystery to unfold, danger is threatened and puzzles as to who is behind it needs to be worked out. It's about Trust too – can Jessi let go enough to trust Hold as her heart wants, and can he let go of his past too – he's holding some big secrets close to his chest. And of course secrets always come out at the very worse time....
It's a fun read, a story to take in slowly, to enjoy, to ponder over. When the sad parts came, the heartbreak, the emotion, I was upset for them – both of them, understanding how each felt. The danger element played out well too, felt very real and fitted the story perfectly. In all a romance with a solid story to tell, and I'd be happy to continue with the next book in the series.
Stars: not quite a five, a four and a half.
