Virginia Nelson likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can't remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude--not always in that order.

I picked this book up for a quick, fun read with a happy ending. I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed at all. The characters had depth, were three dimensional, and grow through the short story. The situation was a little farfetched, but still fun. As for that long road trip and resulting hangry moments at the beginning... let’s just say I’ve been there. (grin) Jude’s lucky I wasn’t driving the car. She might have been left on the side of the road had I been in Al’s shoes because I’m much more like Jude than Al when I’m hungry. If you’re looking for a fun read, this books should be high on your list.
