New York Times and USA Today Bestselling series!

Boxed set of three award winning High Heels Mystery novels featuring fashion designer turned amateur sleuth, Maddie Springer, including:

SPYING IN HIGH HEELS
L.A. shoe designer, Maddie Springer, lives her life by three rules: Fashion. Fashion. Fashion. But when she stumbles upon the work of a brutal killer, her life takes an unexpected turn from Manolos to murder.

KILLER IN HIGH HEELS
Maddie straps on her stilettos and, along with her trigger-happy best friend, makes tracks for Sin City in search of her MIA dad.
Maddie finds not only her dad, but also a handful of aging drag queens, an organized crime ring smuggling fake Prada pumps, and one relentless killer. Plus, it seems the LAPD's sexiest cop is doing a little Vegas moonlighting of his own. In a town where odds are everything, Maddie bets it all on her ability to out-step a vicious murderer.

UNDERCOVER IN HIGH HEELS
Secret affairs, hunky gardeners, and housewives desperate enough to bare it all... welcome to Magnolia Lane, TV's hottest new prime time show... where a rising young starlet is found dead on the show's set. Now it's up to Maddie to sift through a leading lady with a secret, an actor on the verge of a nervous breakdown, a sexy cyber scandal, and one tabloid reporter who'll stop at nothing to get the story of the century. Not to mention Maddie's hot-cold relationship with the case's familiar lead detective, Jack Ramirez. In a world where secrets, lies, and deception can earn you an Oscar, Maddie plays the role of a lifetime to catch Hollywood's hottest killer. But if she doesn't watch her step, Maddie's fifteen minutes of fame just may be her last.

_ - Publishers’ Weekly
"Stylish... nonstop action...guaranteed to keep chick lit and mystery fans happy!"
_ - Romance Junkies
"Maddie Springer is like a cross between Paris Hilton and Stephanie Plum, only better. The dialogue is snappy and the suspense beautifully interwoven with Ms. Halliday’s unique humor. This is one HIGH HEEL you’ll want to try on again and again "
_ - Press & Sun Bulletin
"It's rare to find a romantic mystery that's so funny, but this is certainly one of them. Maddie Springer (is) a ‘Versace’ Nancy Drew everyone can appreciate."

    Good Books .... BUT

Evidently I got a dammaged file. Just after I got well into the 2nd one, it was very, very slow to get pages turned ... I'm talking 2-3 minutes for each double page!!!!! This was the case whether using my Nook Color OR my Galaxy Tab2 Android Nook app OR Kobo app on my Tab2!!! And, YES it was ONLY this book set. Other books & book sets open and flip pages just fine. Apart from that, the books were fun although I think the author needs to check a lot of her words' meanings (annunciate for ennunciate!!!!!) and spelling/grammar. But, the plots were fun if rather convoluted at times. And, I agree that Maddie seems extremely dumb so much so that the convoluted plans she comes up with don't seem to be likely to be hatched in her limited brain.

    Ugh. File corrupted?

I read the reviews warning about issues with this file, but paid no attention. It stopped turning pages well into the second story. And will not advance any more. It just sits "thinking".
As far as the story goes, I really like the characters! They are funny, quirky and likeable. The story lines are simple but entertaining. Great light and easy read. If only the file would allow me to finish reading these...

    They're ok

Not the best stories in the world- but you can't help but to love Maddie and Ramirez! They're a bit like the Stephanie Plum books- only more predictable. Still fun reads and a good enough read or a rainy day weekend.

    fun reads

I thought these were fun, light reads. Maddie's character is a little much at times, but I got a laugh out of some of her crazy situations.

    Still not sure

I like the chatacters, and the books are for the most part well written but I'm not sure if I like Maddie. She's really dumb. I know it's to make the story more interesting that she gets into trouble and makes the wrong decisions but WOW, she's dumb. It's written so that Maddie is like Stephanie Plum- stumbling into crazy situations but she's no Stephanie. The jury is still out, not sure if I like the books or not.

Anyone else ready to throw their nook thru the window because you can't read past page 1516? Tried it on the nook, on my phone & on the computer. No luck. Wondering if I could get a 1/3 refund...

    more from this reviewer

I do not recommend boxed sets for the Nook.

One the volumes in this set I had already read. I enjoyed the second but had nothing but problems with the third. the further I got into the volume the longer the page turn was to complete. So long that a wait error window opened.

This set also locked up my Nook Color. I got as far as page 1519 and the pages would not even turn. The "go to" would not come up.

would recommend series to anyone who enjoys mysteries and comedy rolled into one.

I have read this complete series (available to date). The heroine of the series kept me laughing thru out and at the same time kept me guessing who the villain was. She is addicted to very expensive designer shoes even though they cause her trouble walking or running. Each book was very hard to put down.

    Wacky, Ditzy Blonde Heroine

This series is very entertaining, but I find myself shaking my head in disbelief at how ditzy this woman is. Can't she think straight? But I guess book would not be entertaining if she was smart!!

High Heels, Gays, Impersonators, Latino Cop, and other memorable characters...fun fun fun

    Highly recommend!

The author is extremely funny with a wickedly sarcastic way with humor. Each of the books in the volume were wonderful and not so complicated that you couldn't skip a day of reading and get lost!
Each book had the same characters, but the story was not a continuation of the others.
