Good remix album of these teen pop dance numbers!

For the squealing teen who's anxious to hear this CD for the songs on the original High School Musical 2 album, this album will be a winner. But for the more mature adult listener not very much into catchy bubblegum pop, yet into dance remixes, this is a solid alternative. All of the songs are good in their remixed form and Jason Nevins strips the songs from the bubblegum pop themes that dominate the original. Nevins is clever with weaving the songs back to back for a nonstop sequence. One of the best numbers is Bet on It and its charged up energy. I Can't Dance is another fun surprise. I played that the most when I heard the album back in December for a limited period. The energy is solid on the first several numbers before the album slows down and builds back up to a fast paced big closing. I like the medley of the final number as Nevins combines snippets of the original album's songs. In most cases, this remix album is much better than the teen pop that dominates the original. I dock it one star because the songwriting can be a little generic and sappy on some parts. But this is a solid, high energy dance album that you can play over and over!
