Overview

Book 1 in the High Plains Shifters series but may be read as a stand-alone story.

From the moment she looked through the antique mirror and saw him change from beast to man, Martha wanted him. The brawny Highlander, sexy and dark, made her body burn for his possession. But when he reached through the glass to yank her straight into the past, her fantasy became reality.

Trapped by an evil curse, Silas MacAdam, the lycan king, yearned for the modern woman who stared so innocently at him through the mirror. The need to take, to claim, to possess her on the furs in his ancient castle, burned him. Only she can help him return to his rightful place among his people. Upon their arrival in modern-day Texas, it becomes his mission to convince the lady that she belongs to him—as his mate.

Highland Beast (High Plains Shifters Book 1) by Regina Carlysle Martha Bennett was not like other kids growing up her abilities as an empath caused many adults as well as children to shun her. These days Martha prefers the quite life so she live on the open land away from people and their emotions. Silas MacAdam has been cursed by a scorned witch destined to live out his days trapped within the walls of his castle locked inside and antique mirror. Silas yearns for the day the one of pure heart will purchase the mirror and set him free. Martha is drawn to the antique mirror and is compelled to buy it and take it home. That night strange things happen, Martha is once again drawn to the carvings on the mirror and when she rubs her hand over them everything begins to change. Before Martha can think straight she is drawn into a world she never knew existed with a man she swears was just a wolf. Is Martha the one of pure heart sent to set Silas free and will Martha be able to accept Silas's word as truth after so many disappointment. I enjoyed ready Highland Beast and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Was a good and short story. Salina moved to the country wanting peace and quiet and no judging people. The town was small and no one seamed to bother her or cause her any empathic pain. She buys a mirror that curse on it and finds a black wolf in it who turns into a man. He pulls her thriugh the mirror and she breaks the witches curse. Only her love and pure heart can free him. The witch comes back and they have to wirj together to free him and brung him over to her side were he meets part of his old clan. KD aka Kristy D

It's sex from page 1 to 67. It could have been a bit longer, because the story was there, the author just didn't use it. Most definately 18+. JS

I thought the story line was good but i just wish it was longer. 65 pages isnt enough for character and story development.

This book has plenty of sex but is missing just about every thing else.Plot,Interesting characters, length of story line. The list just goes on.In my opinion this book was not worth the price or the time it took to read it. If you want more in a story then disjointed sex scenes then walk away. This novella is not for you.It received one star from me because my browser jammed and I couldn't give it the zero it deserved.
