    Exciting historical Scottish romance

In 1455 Scotland Fergus Thurkettle incarcerates Sir Revan Halyard who is investigating a plot to overthrow King James. His jailer¿s niece Contessa Tess Delgado frees the imprisoned Revan, but before he escapes Fergus arrives. Realizing that Fergus will kill even his own blood, Revan abducts Tess for her own safety.

Revan and Tess travel to the King to warn him of the treachery, but Fergus and his seditious comrades pursue. As the intrepid duo journeys closer to their goal, they fall in love. However, though cherished, love must remain on hold for first they must survive the traitors chasing after them and second inform His Highness that perfidy is rampant among some of the nobles.

Fans of historical Scottish romances will fully enjoy this reprint of a Hannah Howell tale written under the name of Sandra Dustin. Though almost a decade old, the tale retains a freshness in spite of remaining inside sub-genre plot lines. The key to the crisp story line is the lead couple whose courage and love shine throughout the novel. Readers will enjoy this story and want to read Ms. Howell¿s delightful Highland trilogy (note that this novel is not part of that miniseries).

    Beautiful!

I thought this was a wondeful story.Tessa loved her man enough to let him go rather than have him hate her in the end because of her wealth, but of course, true love wins out. This book is very recommended.

    Very exciting, tender love story.

The first book I read of Hannah Howell's was 'His Bonnie Bride,' that book was terrible!! It was very trashy and I skipped to the end just so I wouldn't feel I totally wasted my money on the book. I was therefore apprehensive about the other book of hers I had purchased (this one). I have to say, I was pleasantly suprised. This book was not only good, it was exciting and filled will adventure. Revan was soooo sweet to Tess. He protected her and cherished her. Tess was also really neat. She had a quick tongue but was also sweet. I loved how she wanted to look pretty for Revan whenever she got the chance. In short, if you do buy this book, you won't be disapointed. It is a sweet, adventurous love story that will leave you feeling happy you took the time to read it. Revan and Tess were such a cute couple!

This story is filled with excitement and an energy that does not allow the reader to put it down until it's finished. It is really a great story and encourages people to read more...I recently graduated and took time off before attending college, I didnt read anything that I did not have too until now after this book thats mostly all I do, I stopped alot of my out habbits so that I could enjoy a good book and my friends (girl) are doing the same.

Be aware - this is a reissue.

At the end of Hannah Howell's 'Highland Knight', there was an introduction to her 'newest novel'. While reading the excerpt, I had a case of deja-vu. I knew the characters, the story line, etc. So I did some research, and found that this is a reissue of a book Hannah Howell published in 1995 under the pseudoname Sandra Dustin, but the same title. I don't know if any enhancements have been made to the writing, but I don't want people to buy this book believing it's new and then find out after the fact they've read it before. I will say that I did enjoy the original Highland Hearts novel, and that the writing, character interaction, and fast moving storyline are classic Hannah Howell.
