Really good. I enjoyed the story and the characters. It always amazes me to think that different Christian faiths have such hatred towards one another.

Awesome and educational to those interested. I love that the author added insight and even a list of certain books if one wants to look for more  information on this era in scottish history. I love historical romance, and was very pleased to learn new information. Yes I read for romance but it doesn't hurt to learn something new.

The story was good, but drawn out to much. It could have done without most of the sex. All in all an okay story.

Tedious, fluffy writing. Could not finish the book which is fortunate since historical romances are my favorite

I am a voracious fan of highland take and rarely pass one up. I don't even mind how predictable and alike many of them are, I love em all. This one was really well written and researched, it was also a different story line than usual. It touched on religious wars and provided thought provoking possibilities for both sides. Though there were a few misedits which seems to be the norm with the volume of books coming out, I really liked it. About 240 pages

This novel provides historical background for the religious battles that led up to the times of King James and the bonnie prince. An excellent series to help fill the time until Outlander returns.

I thought, free book, why not. Started reading, finished, bought the next two. Like the way it is written, good mix on emotion. If you get a chance and enjoy romance/adventure, my advice is to read these. Thank you
