Overview

Defending Her Was His Duty

Skilled with a sword and quick with her wit, Scottish rebel Claire Stuart cannot be tamed. And nothing can deter her from rescuing her beloved sister and saving them both from arranged marriages—not even the handsome Highlander who vows to protect Claire. His scorching gaze and fiery kiss bring her to the brink of surrender, but she belongs to no man...

Seducing Her Would Be His Reward

Graham Grant has had his share of lasses. But he has never met one as headstrong or as bonnie as Claire—or one with such desperate, dnagerous plans. Helping her could betray his honor, his country, and more. Graham can't claim her. Yet everything in him says: Take her, make her yours, teach her pleasure, and never let her go.

    Excellent reading¿
Paula Quinn knows how to write Historical romance. Her characters bring life to the pages. The story draws you in immediately and keeps you turning the pages. Nothing is predictable, and it kept me on the edge in an attempt to figure out who to trust. The relationship between Graham and Claire had just enough sizzle and lively exchange to make them believable and extremely likeable. The book flowed easily to a dramatic conclusion that did not make me feel cheated. I will definitely look for other books by this author and will set this book aside as a must-read-again.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! One of the best historical romance novels I hav

WOW WOW WOW!!!! One of the best historical romance novels I have ever read. And I have read plenty by many different authors. I usually never write recommendations but I would be remiss if I did not help get this book into as many hands as I could if these types of book are your cup of tea. No I have no affiliation with Ms. Quinn as one might think given all this book boasting. I just simply was floored by her exceptional writing style and compelling story line all mixed with some actual history. This is not for the faint of heart as far as some of the steamy content, but heck let's fess up; that's partly why some of us read these books!!

    an engaging seventeenth century romance

In 1659 English General Monck captures Scotswoman Claire Stuart. He plans to use her as a negotiating pawn to force her brother Connor, leading an enemy fighting force using guerilla tactics, to end their rebellion by surrendering. While in captivity, Claire keeps in shape and improvs her fighting skills waiting for the opportune moment to escape and join her sibling.--------------- Graham Grant is a superb warrior, but refuses to join the fight. He joins his brother-in-law, a Royal Scottish Earl, Robert Campbell on a trip where he learns of Claire¿s captivity. Graham helps Claire escape and accompanies her as she heads to her brother. As they fall in love, neither has any hope of a future together as she supports the rebellion and he pushes for peace.-------------------- Using real historical figures and events to anchor time and place, Paula Quinn provides her fans with an engaging seventeenth century romance. Claire is a fabulous lead female who prefers to fight alongside her brother while the capable warrior Graham is sick of death, maiming, and blood chooses peace. Readers will relish their delightful match up as Ms. Quinn provides a strong war and peace historical.----------- Harriet Klausner

    I Also Recommend:

Another great book by Paula Quinn!

This book did not disappoint. Graham and Robert are back, along with some familiar faces from Laird of the Mist. Romance and a nice whodunit. A real page turner, I couldn't put it down.

    A Bonny Tale

What can I say aboot this, you give me a braw laddy wearing a kilt swinging a claymore in one hand and a sword in the other fighting for the good of Scotland and makin love to his lassie. Well who could want more. Ms Quinn is one of my favorite Highland writers, her novels are very touching, sensual and full of action and this one is no different and left me as always longing for the Highlands

    Same old

It seems like all the females may be able to fight and do all the stuff a tuff girl would do but mention anyy attractive guy they fall all over themselves, seems to me that these guys need to work harder, its the same ol' same ol' (let me get close to this hot guy then trick him, oh no im in love!) God make me puke why doesnt she just stay honest and tuff the right way instead of making that stupid god awful desision. It just makes girls look stupid and pathetic, i cant even read those parts
