Overview

There can be only one...for both of them.

In the twelfth century, a man named Gilleoin was gifted with the ability to shift into a bear. His clan was called Matheson, and when he mated with a woman carrying faerie blood, they created a line shrouded in secrecy, yet still, far into the future, whispers would abound...

For five long years, Isla Matheson has run from the one man her fae ancestor prophesized would be hers, but now her time for running is done. Her shifter mate is closing in and when he captures her and takes her home to his clan, she can no longer deny either of them. She chooses to merge with him in all ways, and in doing so sets a twelfth century prophecy in motion, one that sends her hurtling back through time to when their clan first began.

Highland warrior shifter Iain Matheson has fallen under his mate's spell. She's the one woman he would die to protect, and when a portal opens and takes her from him, he dives in after her. He'll never allow her to escape him, not even when he becomes embroiled in one of the greatest feuds raging at that time.

Now they have a mission, to save their future line from extinction, to give hope to their people, both in the future and the past.

I loved this introduction to the Matheson Clan, and really enjoyed Ms. Wadsworth's take on this tale of bear shifters and destiny. Once again, she has successfully woven a tale that draws you in, keeps you enthralled and leaves you begging for more. The tale of Iain and Isla details his search for his mate, and her avoidance of him, because up until now, her father has been her entire life. She doesn't want to leave him to go to a mate, even though she recognizes it is her destiny. And once Iain finally finds her, she realizes everything she has given up. This series is going to be a little steamier than some of her other books, but Ms. Wadsworth does steam very well, without going over the top. There was a bit of a twist near the end that I didn't see coming, but it served to strengthen the work overall. And it leads nicely to the next two stories I hope are coming...The tales of Iain's brothers, Finlay and Kirk. I'd definitely recommend the book, the series and any of Wadsworth's other work. I love it when a book leaves me wanting more.

This book has all the elements I love in the romance genre all mixed in together. There's an ancient prophecy, shifters, highlanders, and delicious time travel. This story led me on a journey that made me stay up well into the night to read.

The Matheson Brothers have traveled back in time to the year 1210 to save their clan. This story follows the eldest of the brothers and his journey to claim his mate. Isla is fiesty and Iain is a true Highland warrior who is prepared to fight for his mate. This adventure took me away into the Highlands and I just loved it.

Fabulous Author Joanne Wadsworth does it again in book 2 of her wonderful time travel paranormal Mattheson Brothers series. This is an exceptional page turner and again another fabulous book, that you won't be able to put down . This New Zealand author is a fantastic and unique storyteller that I highly recommend! Setting...Scotland, 1210 The Matheson Brothers triplets know as the power of three sent back in time as to when the Matheson Clan began. The brothers mission is to find their soul mates and destiny to save their future clan to continue to exist to save from extinction. This book is about Matheson brother, a Highland shifter , that can shift into bear form called Finlay and the heroine in this story is about Arabel a Fae who has the fire wielding ability the thing is she fears getting too close to Finlay as she is afraid she will kill him as she still hasn't been able to control her power and fears she will kill Finlay. As she can feel Finlay as she has a lot of powers and with the help with another of her kind and their combined power can make Finlay believe each time they meet it is the first time. The problem is each time Finlay meets Arabel he falls completely in love with her yet after each meeting he forgets her which begone to be very frustrating to Finlay. There is also a fair share of villains and evil in this story one plans to distroy Arabel village and Finlay being the food and honorable man he is knows time is of the essence to save and protect his beloved Arabel as well as her people. So Finlay knows he has to figure a way for he and Arabel to be together for love and to save both all the people they care about, their families and friends, as well as each other. The problem is how can they do this without dying! Finlay fears loosing Arabel from her enemiesBtho want to distroy and have been killing people from her village. Now as for Arabel who can't seem to get a hold of her emotions! She fears killing Finlay with her own fire wielding power that she could always control until recently. Fate can be a very cruel mistress what is to happen to this ill fated couple where doom seem to be coming at every direction? You the reader will have to read this spectacular book to find the results and what other adventure and drama this ill fated couple have to endure. Another spectacular read that Ms. Wadsworth pens with that golden pen of her! I absolutely loved this brilliant storyline filled with so much action packed adventure, mystery, suspense, drama and even a few giggles at some humorous scenes and of course the romance and love. Of course who doesn't love a visit to historic Scotland? I could nearly feel the chill from the winds near the loch, smell the sweet scented heather while tripping over some thistles doing some frolicking up a mountain! I can't praise this book enough as it is definitely one for the keeper shelf. I loved Highland Passion as I did with Highland Desire book one of the Matheson Brother series and can't wait for Kirk's story in Highlander's Seduction. I also highly recommend Ms,Wadsworth Highlander Heat Series as another I read and reviewed the entire fabulous series, all 7 books which are always all my honest reviews.

I absolutely love this book. I was so annoyed when I had to stop reading it to go to work. The characters and the story line are very well developed. Paranormal, historical, romance, mystery and action, this book has it all. And once Isla stops running from Iain, holy hotness! Those are some steamy scenes. I love how this book starts in the past, then jumps to the present day, returning to the past when something needs explaining. I'm impressed by the amount of detail that was packed into so few pages. And the book never felt rushed to me. Joanne Wadsworth did an excellent job of telling this story. This is a great start, and I will definitely be following the rest of the series. I received a complimentary copy in return for an honest review

Iain Matheson, a bear shifter, is tracking his fated mate. She has runaway from him for five years. Luck is on his side and he finds her. Their bond is part of a prophecy and their coupling will make it all come true. Isla Matheson is drawn to Iain but she won't leave her father. Are they ready for the chain of events over which they have no control? What happens next is magical! Iain and Isla are perfect match for each other. I love these characters. They are both powerful shifters and determined to protect the innocent. With her fiery nature, she will stand up to her shifter mate while he, in turn, won't let her risk her life. He's an amazing hero. I liked meeting Iain's brothers. They will soon have their own HEA. The setting is beautiful and rugged just like these two lovers. The dialogue is humorous and flirty. Highlander's Desire is the first book In The Matheson Brothers series. I'm looking forward to reading both Finlay and Kirk's story. Joanne Wadsworth makes these Highlanders come to life. She's a must buy author for me.

5+++ Stars Another AMAZING book from Joanne Wadsworth!! WOW! From page one, I swept right into this story. I felt as I was truly in the Highlands along with all of these amazing new characters. I absolutely love that this new series is about Highlanders that can shift into bears. Joanne Wadsworth nails the paranormal element in Highlander's Desire. I love how her Highlander books usually involve time travel but adding in the shifting ability was awesome. Isla is a beautiful, stubborn and proud fae with the ability to shift into a bear also. She tries her best to avoid the pull of her destined mate but the need to be with him becomes too overwhelming. I love her quick wit and humor. Iain is the eldest son of the clan chief and is destined to fulfill an ancient prophecy that will see him help to merge both Matheson Clans. His tries, relentlessly, to find his mate when the bond between them begs that he find her. She always seems just out of his grasp and the need may just drive him crazy. The connection and sparks between these two is amazing, instant and HOTT! I love reading about these two characters and their adventure. I love where Joanne left this book and cannot wait to read Finlay's book. Thank you Ms Wadsworth for another amazing Highland adventure! You have a true talent.

I was gifted a copy of this book. Highlander's Desire by Joanne Wadsworth was a fun read. This book had a little bit of everything, paranormal, romance, humor, sex, time travel. I loved the characters and their interaction with each other. This book ends in a bit of a cliff-hanger (and I do hate cliff-hangers) but it did have an actual end. I didn't mind this book ending in a cliff-hanger as much as other books because there was an end. In other words, it didn't just stop in the middle of a paragraph like other books I've read. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author. This book is a fairly quick read, great for those with limited time for reading.

The potential of this book is almost frustrating due to how poorly it was written. The dialogue between the main characters is cheezy at best especially during the sex scenes. The overuse of the word "razz" and its other forms is annoying and Iain at times attempts to be dominant but in all actuality is very laid back and a pushover. I wouldn't mind such character traits if it weren't for the conflicting and unbelievable times that he tries to be dominant. The ending feels abrupt but I could forgive that if the book had been good enough to convince me to read the other ones in this series.
