    Fantastic

"Highschool of the Dead" (or HOTD) is an excellent zombie manga series. I was hooked by the first volume. The plot is simple. A diverse group of highschool kids and the school nurse come together as a team in order to survive the zombie apocalypse.

This is the Nook Color version. If you have a Nook Tablet, then I advise you to buy this format because every page is in full color! Who could ask for more?

I have read both the black & white printed manga format, and the 100% full color version. There is no contest. The full color art throughout the story is better, because it allows more details to be viewed in all their splendor. It is a thing of beauty and horror.

In color, the zombies are more frightening and more interesting. I did not see them as anything more than background filler in black & white. But, the color just pops out at me through my Nook. It is horrifying in a good way. It is also easier to keep track of the characters when they are in color. There are a few extras in this edition, such as character profiles with artist/author commentary.

This is the second volume in the HOTD series. This volume gets the main group back together, and it finishes during the first nightfall of the "Murder Syndrome" plague happening in Eastern Japan.

If you like zombies and manga (japanese comic books), then you will love "Highschool of the Dead"!!!
