János Kornai is Permanent Fellow, Emeritus, at Collegium Budapest Institute for
Advanced Study, Allie S. Freed Professor of Economics Emeritus at Harvard
University, and Distinguished Research Professor at Central European University. He is the author of many other books, including Contradictions and Dilemmas:
