Meet the Author

Mary Jo Mosher, a Minnesota native, is a former newspaper reporter and editor. She is a volunteer with the USDA Forest Service and an avid hiker and equestrian. She lives in Becker, Minnesota.

Kristine Mosher grew up in Minnesota and spent many years as a wilderness instructor and outdoor educator, working with the Voyageur Outward Bound School in Minnesota and Texas. She lives in Ely, Minnesota.

    Basic and Fun

    I bought this book for a class and found it very fun and useful. It is well organized and has all the basic info needed to choose new places to hike based on location(many maps) and fitness level among other factors.
