I found this book under kids books. My eleven year old started reading it and this book has HORRIBLE language. I am far from a prude but when a children's book is dropping the F-Bomb and the B worth all on the same page (page 41) that is NOT ok. I am very disgusted that this would even be in the kids section. I am not for censoring books but I am for appropriate ratings and sections. This book should never be listed in the children's section on the site. I am very disappointed. This doesn't even deserve the one star I was forced to enter.

The foul language in this book is reprehensible for a "young adult" book. The scenes with sexual innuendo and overt violence caused by alcohol fueled rage add to the inappropriateness of the intended age. I cannot stress enough, read the book before allowing your children to read it.

The people giving this book good reviews must be friends of the author. What isn't profane reads like an outline but not a book.

If you can't take a few swear words, then this is not the book for you. I think Paul Kater is doing a great job with this series. Lighten up people.

This was just plain ---ODD. And I do not think it should be listed under KIDS, due to the vulgar language

I have now read all 4 Hilda books and I had trouble putting them down. It is so easy to visualize these stories. I hope the author keeps these characters alive by writing more stories.

I am really enjoying this series, which I'll admit does suffer a little in the translation (the author is Dutch). However, for a light afternoon read, these are great fun. No, they are not teen novels, they are light reading for adults.
Hilda the Wicked Witch is the first in the series, and a quick and funny read, with a fast plot. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

I was WRONG.
-moderately short story so easy read
-humorous storyline of the wicked witch of the Grimm fairytale world being thrown into our current day world.
-playful irony that I personally enjoy and makes me respect the author for; irony is an art form that most authors don’t know how to do well
-Enjoyed the ending. It was a book that you’re not looking for a happy ending – just a satisfying one and it has it!
Con: If I have to come up with one, I would say it is that maybe the author could have introduced me to more of Hilda’s world before she was transported to current/real time.
I plan to read the sequels and will jot a few things down regarding them as I finish them.

Absolutely LOVED this book! I love anything that has a twist on Fairy Tails and I think this writer did an awesome job! The typo's were a little annoying but nothing major, that is the only thing I can complain about! I love the character he has created in Hilda and cannot imagine him doing better. I haven't been surprised by a book in a while, and this one was a breath of fresh air! Cannot wait to read the rest! FYI....since i read a lot of the ratings.....THIS BOOK IS NOT MEANT FOR CHILDREN!!!!!!! LOL but other than that Enjoy! xoxoxo

The author deserves a great deal of credit for choosing to self-publish his work and face the criticism, good and bad, that results. That noted...I couldn't get past the first few pages. The grammar is generally correct, but the writing, particularly the dialogue, is horribly stilted. If English is the author's native language, then I would advise him to read his manuscript aloud and LISTEN to the way the words flow...then revise.
