    Recommended, highly interesting

This is a comprehensive collection of biographical information as well as Hildegard's letters, prayers, and visions; well-researched, interesting and enlightening and spiritual reading. I'm quite pleased with the opportunity to refer back to the most inspirational portions, i.e.g, her prayers. It's a wonderful companion to the recordings I have of Hildegard's chants. Through Butcher's book, I've come to know so much more about this mighty-yet-humble woman. Thank you.
I would have liked to see an appendix with her prayers collected in one place rather than scattered throughout.
