When newly-divorced Maggie Oliver returns to the Hill Country of Texas, sullen teen daughter in tow, she faces more than her barely livable grandparents' home. Maggie's strength as she deals with a devastating fire, a rebellious daughter, a cheating ex-husband and an old flame makes the reader cheer her on. Maggie just needs to decide if the devastatingly handsome bad boy, now the local cop, if she can trust her heart. Loralee Lillibridge brings warmth and humor to this story of second chances. Her descriptions of mother-daughter trials are so realistic they'll bring back not-so-fond memories of those times in our own lives—whether we were the mother or the daughter. Loralee's fondness for Texas Hill Country really shines through. Most important of all, she brings enough sensuality and emotion to the highly charged romance between a man with multiple responsibilities and a woman trying to do what is best for herself and her daughter.

The strength of Loralee's plot is her down-home wisdom and understanding of human nature. Her characters are real people, with real problems, who struggle with decision making and the consequences of making bad choices. Hill Country Man is about a newly divorced single mom with a rebellious teenage daughter who every mom can relate to. It's about a sexy, once-burned hunk of a man who accepts people, faults and all, and knows the value of true friendship and earned trust. Mostly, in a very believable and heartwarming way, Hill Country Man is about second chances, the power of true love, and the life-changing redemption of true forgiveness. Readers will root for Maggie's triumph and sigh whenever she feels distrust for her Hill Country Man. This is a five-star must read if you want a quick, feel-good experience that will leave your real life and worries far behind. You will wish these charcters lived next door to you so that you could invite them over for coffee and advice.

I completely enjoyed this book. It was a very nice and easy read. I loved the cowboy/western theme of this book, along with the romance and the interaction of the characters. If you are looking for a good romance book to read then I would pick this one!!
