    A knitting book worth buying.

    I have made quite a few of the hats in this book. I made the cover hat with the stripes This book is not one that has only one pattern you will use.

    One thing I like about these hats is that they are not old-fashioned.

    I am obsessed with knitting, but some knitting patterns are not always current. These hats are. The only thing I don't love about the book is that most of the yarns used are bulky or chunky and I wish she had mixed up the yarns a bit more.

    The hats are just very easy to make (although the top down can be a bit tricky at first). The only hat that didn't come out really well is the felted one (I made it too small).

    Enjoy making these hats. It is a book worth buying.

    A lot of good patterns, but yarn weight choices are a bit limited.

    I bought some yarn because I loved the look and feel of it with the idea in mind that I'd knit some hat or caps with it. I shopped books and picked this one because it looked like it would have modern patterns that would fit the bill. The number of overall patterns was wonderful and most include ways to vary the pattern a bit for an alternate look, but I was disappointed to see that most patterns were designed to use bulky or chunky weight yarn. There are very few that use worsted-weight - which is what I have. That's not the book's fault, but I wish the description had mentioned the number of patterns in the book per weight of yarn used. I'd have gotten another book if it had. The instructions and photographs are nicely done.

    Great book to expand from the basic knit hat

    Great book with lots of great, quick to knit patterns for new, fun and stylish hats for men and women. Love the fact that all hats come in two sizes for better fit. I have both her hat books and love them!!!

    Good Variety of Hats

    I like that a good portion of hats were unisex. I really like that there's an option for larger heads and not a one-size-fits-all because I have a hard time finding patterns that fit my husbands head. Cathy even gives tips and tables so that you can combine different sizes and colors of yarn to make your hat unique. They knit up quickly, which is great for last minute gifts.

    I also recommend Cathy's other book Hattitude for someone looking for a good variety of women's hats.

    Excellent source book

    Wonderful collection of hats for all ages and genders. I have found it to be accurate and the instructions to be clear and easy to follow. Everyone wants to borrow it!

    Stylish Hats for Adults

    This is a really great book if you are looking for stylish but not faddish hats for adults. There is information for the beginner on basic knitting techniques,a section on sizing and one for picking a hat style for your face. This is a well thought out and well laid out book. Each hat has a skill level and size clearly marked. There are color photographs for every hat and variations for the projects too. There are even some felting instructions.
    I really liked this book and plan on making quite a few of the hats for myself and gifts. Hats are good projects for the beginner and intermediate knitter since they can be made in a few nights and some of the techniques and stitches are very useful on later larger projects.
    This is a great addition to your knitting library.

    Fun hats with lots of variations

    I bought this book at the beginning of Christmas vacation and spent two weeks happily knitting my evenings away. The hats look great and were interesting to make. The book provides for many variations and lots of ideas. In any given knitting book, I usually find three or four things I want to make. The hats in this book work so well, that I just keep making them.

    One caveat: most of these patterns begin with casting on 12 stitches, dividing them between three needles and knitting in the round. It's a bit of a trick to start this way (I always start on the large end and decrease) but with a bit of practice and some unravelling, it's not hard to get the hang of it.
