Library Journal
This book includes projects designed to appeal to the new Gen-X knitter and uses such currently popular materials as super-chunky wools, ribbon, and metallic yarns. Among the 18 projects are a felted tote bag, a hooded sweatshirt, a ribbed tank top, and chunky hats that should knit up in no time. Inexplicably, the "Knitting Basics" section at the end of the book does not include information on the knit and the purl stitches, so this project book will have to be used in conjunction with a basic how-to-knit instruction book. Recommended for all public libraries patronized by hip knitters. You know who you are. Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

    Favorite knit book

I have a ton of knitting books, but it is my favorite by far! I first found it in the library, and just kept renewing it for months on end. Now it is all mine! ;-)

    Excellent beginner's book

I learned how to knit when I was very young and then I put the needles down for 30 years. I recently started to knit once again and needed a book with all the different types of patterns. Hip to Knit had everything from mittens to sweaters, with easy to read instructions. I love this book.

A book every knitter should own

As a beginner knitter, I found the pattern in this book very easy to understand. It is very well written and produces some beautiful pieces of knit ware. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a knitting book.
