Meet the Author

Welcome to my zig-zag journey from my native Midwest to the present, It's meant living in a forested yoga ashram and later a desert, serving as staff editor for a future Nobel Prize laureate, covering fourteen states as a field representative for a major newspaper syndicate, being isolated from the rest of the world during a volcanic eruption, hearing my chimney blow away in a nor'easter, being roused by tornadoes while camping, and appearing as a writer and poet in literary journals on five continents. As a newspaper editor, I've crafted hundreds of thousands of headlines, designed tens of thousands of pages, and cropped and captioned at least twice as many photos, in addition to editing the news and features copy itself.I delight in Quaker meditation, performing as a baritone in the Revels Singers in Boston, dancing New England contras and traditional Greek lines, swimming at secluded Maine beaches, hiking in mountains, delving into a symphony or opera, the challenges of contemporary literature and painting, and especially my wife and daughters. I'm not so fond of weeding, raking leaves, shoveling snow, domestic cleaning, dealing with bureaucrats, most medical procedures, or repairing our century-old house. And, yes, we have pet rabbits.

    Very good. Very surprising.

A surprisingly well written novel about one hippie boy's quest for love while living on a farm with a bunch of colorful, like minded individuals.

Told with eloquence and warmth, DL struggles with finding new love as he tries to recover from a broken heart. All the while he is working as a newspaper photographer and hanging with his friends at Ranchos Huevos.

A sweet, nostalgic tale about growing up and finding spirituality while living in troubled times. Hippies or any peace loving dude or dudette should read this. And what is even better
