Overview

In his father’s eyes, Dylan Deveraux is just a playboy spending the family fortune on prostitutes, alcohol, and fast cars. Because of that, his father forbids Dylan’s presence at the ball that will mark the US launch of the family automobile company, strategically scheduled on Valentine’s Day.

Hayley Allen is a failing model with an anxiety disorder, and she has the worst luck in the world. She always ends up in the hands of cruel designers and photographers—at least, that’s what she tells herself. It’s better than admitting her own failure. Desperate, she would do anything to help her career—even go along with the pretense Dylan suggests....

Longtime friends, Hayley is the only one able to put up with Dylan’s foolishness, and he appreciates that, but not in the way her heart wants. When he approaches her with his idea to crash the Valentine’s Ball as his girlfriend, she jumps at the chance to be in the spotlight and help Dylan impress his father. But will the charade leave her heart unscathed, or is this just more of Dylan’s bullshit?

Meet the Author

Juliana is a Brazilian girl living in Connecticut.

She would love to be Wonder Woman, Cheetara, Elektra, Buffy, Phoebe, She-ra, Rose, Korra, Cornelia, a blood elf shadow priest, and other various kick-ass female from comics, TV series, movies, books and games, but she settles for—the less exciting but equally gratifying life—a wife, mother, friend and a writer. Her heroines are like the ones cited above and she also writes about the heroes who drive them crazy—and occasionally hot.

Since her first stories, she wrote about 20-something year old protagonists without knowing it wouldn’t fit in today’s traditional publishing market. Nowadays, besides writing full time, she battles for the recognition of New Adult as a category.

This is a fast novella about two friends who become lovers. Dyla

This is a fast novella about two friends who become lovers. Dylan and Hayley have been friends for three years, he's the heir to a car manufacturing fortune and she's a model with an anxiety disorder. They make a deal where she will pose as his girlfriend. This way, she will get modeling publicity and he will have a steady date for his father's Valentine event. Dylan's father is absolutely horrible, I was amazed that his family put up with him. I liked the changes that Dylan went through and the special relationship he had with Hayley. The book is short but we do get enough information about the characters and their motivations. A sweet story with a nice ending. Book gifted by author for review.

I was pleasantly surprised by the book. I did not realize it was

I was pleasantly surprised by the book. I did not realize it was a novella until right before I started reading it. Usually novella's feel rushed to me because it's hard to get a good plot line and character development squished into about 100 pages. I think His allure, her passion is a great novella. It is well written & I never felt that it was rushed. Perfect romance to read when you are looking for something that is relatively short & doesn't have much angst.
This book has one of my favorite plot lines, Hero & Heroine make a 'deal'. They each get something they want or need. Its suppose to be easy, emotionless, and a win-win, but emotions always pop up. In His Allure, Her Passion, playboy Derek needs to appear to have a steady girlfriend in order to get to his Dad's Valentine's Ball and model Hayley needs her big break. They make a deal: Hayley will get all the publicity she needs by dating the famous Derek & he gets the steady girlfriend he needs. Will they both end up with their part of the bargain or something more?
This was a quick read and it kept me entertained the whole time. I never knew what was going to happen between the characters next. I really liked that during the times that Derek & Hayley weren't together for weeks at a time, instead of dragging it out and being inside the characters head, we got to skip ahead. This made the book move at a brisk pace; keeping me thoroughly engaged but not rushing it.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick romantic read & loves the friends to lovers theme!

I really liked this short story; I can’t believe I used to have an aversion to books less than 200 pages. I guess I was just reading the wrong ones!

This novella was just under 100 pages but I felt it had a lot of detail for a short story. We meet Dylan, the typical rich play boy who has a string of women desperate to hang on his arm. The only woman who turned him down three years ago is Hayley who became his best friend, although she has been harbouring a secret crush since.

Although this is your typical story of playboy meets the girl and changes his ways, the way in which the author told this story made me love it. Dylan was more than the hot shot player. He has family issues and the deep sense of disappointment made known at every opportunity by his father.

Hayley, has her own issues to deal with, she is an up and coming model with only one problem; she can’t cope being in the spotlight. I liked this element of the story, highlighting Hayley’s anxiety and the help that was available to her.

I think what I liked most was the relationship between Dylan and Hayley, they started off as friends first and foremost so there was a deep level of care there already. I didn’t mind that it was another story about striking a deal to have a fake relationship only for them both to realise their feelings went beyond fake. I loved these characters so I was rooting for them throughout!

This was great short story, with lots of detail and good characterisation. I am glad I have discovered a new author and will look out for future releases.
