Book two in Juliana Stone¿s Jaguar Warriors series picks up a co

Book two in Juliana Stone’s Jaguar Warriors series picks up a couple of months after His Darkest Hunger. The two oldest Castille brothers left their younger brother Jagger in the jungle not knowing if he was alive or not. Jagger has been roaming the jungle, fully embracing his jaguar. Jagger has a mix of post-traumatic stress disorder and survivors guilt, maybe. I never fully understood him staying behind in the jungle and shifting to cat for extended period of time while estranging himself from his family.
Skye is a very rare eagle shifter who has been tasked with protecting an ancient artifact that is in fact the gate to the underworld. Her people have guarded it for eons. Skye feels that she is the one who must seal the portal forever. The DaCosta’s and Cormac are still after her, they have even begun calling in every mercenary they can to find her. Skye is being chased by unknown evils, a jaguar warrior whom she has been raised to believe is her enemy, and all she wants to do is find the portal that her father hid.
The sexual tension between Skye and Jagger is high. The tension is continuously raised with their number of near encounters. While I love some sexual tension in my romances this tactic became old. They are constantly interrupted or the brakes are put on, every time this couple begins to get in bed together. They wanted each other desperately and I just wanted to shout at the book “just get it over with!”
My biggest complaint was the lack of wrap up with the ending. Typically readers are given a type of closure of the turmoil that brought the hero and heroine together along with the happily ever after. I did not get that closure. It seems like what Skye and Jagger started off trying to complete was left hanging. There is also a mild cliffhanger with what has happened to several secondary characters. The missing element for me left me feeling that the ending was rushed or perhaps something was edited out.
I will continue this series. I’ve loved the League of Guardians books. The one question I have had with those books must take place in the last jaguar book.

His Darkest Embrace is dark & sexy; every page will leave you craving for more!

This second novel in Juliana Stone’s Jaguar Warriors series follows a few months after His Darkest Hunger and is the youngest Castille brother’s story, Jagger.
Jagger Castille is a dark and intense shifter with a troubled past, full of guilt and loss. Wanting to escape the horrors of the real world and delve into his jaguar soul, Jagger escapes to the jungle; cutting ties with even his family until he meets the proud and secretive Skye Knightly.
Skye is an eagle knight, and one of the last of her kind. When her father is murdered the protection and destruction of an ancient artifact falls to her, but a group of jaguars and an evil sorcerer is determined to take it from her. Skye must travel through the deadly jungle of Belize if she’s to have any hope of saving mankind but when a demon starts to hunt her, making her question her own sanity, can she make it in time?

Jagger and Skye have an instant and powerful physical attraction but a difficult chemistry. Jagger is suspicious of Skye but refuses to let her go and will track her to the ends of the jungle. Skye has important responsibilities to her clan and the world, being with an enemy jaguar is not part of her plan.
The story line is well paced, a definite page-turner, and ends with a bit of a cliffhanger so that I'm itching for Julian's book, His Darkest Salvation, which is up next. The only reason I gave this novel four wine glasses as oppose to five is because the chemistry between the two main characters was hard for me to get into and accept. There were too many contradictions in their dialogue with each other. But, by the end I was happy with how their relationship finally flowed. Oh, and did I mention Declan? I don’t know what it is about that sexy warlock but me likey and I’m just dying for his own novel, Wicked Road to Hell.

Chuck full of suspense, mystery, action, deceit and steamy love scenes in the wilds of the jungle, His Darkest Embrace is an exciting continuation in the Jaguar Warriors series.

    super romantic fantasy

As her breed dies out, Eagle Knight Skye Knightly feels immense pressure to do the right thing by her near extinct species. However, her current mission comes first, which is why she is in the Belize jungle. Skye searches for a missing portal that leads to the demon realm; also seeking the portal is her enemy the evil DaCostas Jaguars and their insidious mage Cormac.

For several months Jagger Castille has ended his contacts with his brothers. H has also allowed his Jaguar to run free. When two DaCostas Jaguars try to kill Skye, Jagger intervenes saving her life. Though he knows why his heart got involved and she feels the same way about him, she distrusts him as she does all jaguars; several centuries ago Jaguars nearly eradicated the Eagles.

The second "Darkest" Castille romantic fantasy (see His Darkest Hunger) is a super Shifter thriller due to the matchup of star-crossed lovers whose clans have a dark tragic history. Fast-paced as time has run out with only the planet at stake, fans will join the quest of Jagger and Skye as each knows they love their partner, but distrusts their associate when the only hope of survival is watching each other's back.
