I've strayed from Historical Romance for some time now and have missed reading them. Therefore, when I saw His For Christmas by Jennifer Haymore up on Netgalley I couldn't request it fast enough. The blurb was enticing and it was a Christmas story too which I could never resist!
His for Christmas tells the story of the two main characters, Evan and Amelia. They've know each other as kids and have secretly liked each other more than friends. Fast forward seven years later and their paths crossed again on a stormy winter night. Both are traveling home, but due to the storm they have no choice, but to spend the night at the inn. Left without much choice, they end up sharing a room together. One thing leads to another and Evan and Amelia end up burning up the sheets. After the storm passes, what will happen between Evan and Amelia? Of course, the story is deeper than this, but you'll have to read to find out what happens.
All in all, His For Christmas was a cute, sweet, and sexy Historical Romance. Although, I found the dialogue to be a bit cheesy at times, I still found myself enjoying this story as a whole.
Also, a little side note the story itself ended on the 62% mark on my Kindle. The rest was excerpt previews from "The Duchess Hunt" and "The Rogue's Proposal." I wasn't disappointed by this because I felt the story wrapped up rather nicely. I just wanted to inform readers in case they were expecting a longer story.

I found His For Christmas to be super sweet and a wonderful choice for getting into the holiday spirit. It’s got a lot of my favorite romance elements: Christmas (perfect for a love story), childhood friends, and a misunderstanding - Full review at Romantic Reads and Such on wordpress or BookTrib's websiteWas this review helpful? Twas a Night or Two Before Christmas, and Passion is Stirring
Lady Amelia and her coachman are stranded on the road, miles away from her
family home, or even the nearest town, due to a broken axle on her coach. (I
wonder why this doesn't happen more often in historical fiction; I'm sure it DID
happen in real life).
Of course, the first/only coach that comes along as they are trudging in the
rapidly falling snow contains her once teen crush, now bitter enemy, Evan
Cameron. HE doesn't understand why "Pudge," as he once called her with
affection, should carry a grudge about that, and a few other things, but she
quickly enlightens him.
Both young, both attractive, both still have feelings for one another, and upon
reaching the nearest village and being confined to a tiny room with one bed,
passion wins out. The sex scenes are HOT and varied, and there's a very
satisfactory settling of accounts (and more sex) at the family manor.
Lady Esme (the purported author from the House of Trent) knows how to tell
a VERY spicy story.

HIS FOR CHRISTMAS by Jennifer Haymore is an exciting,Regency Historical Romance. “A House of Trent” novella #2,but can be read as a stand alone. A quick fast read. Lady Amelia Witherspoon and Evan Cameron. This is their story! Lady Amelia has a secret or more than one. Evan does not understand why Lady Amelia is so cold to him, she is one of his oldest and dearest friends. But temptation brings allure, allure brings forth desire and passion. Ms. Haymore simply shines, once again with “His For Christmas”. For a quick romp though Regency England, pick up “His For Christmas” you will not regret the time. I read it in one setting. It is 136 pages of pure joy,the holiday spirit and The House of Trent. A wonderful read! Received for an honest review from the publisher and Net Galley.

A very sweet and lovely holiday read. His for Christmas was a wonderful historical romance novella. I really enjoyed reading this romance.
Amelia was a lovely heroine. She was a really likable character. Just genuinely nice and sweet. She has been in love with Evan for years, but a misunderstanding made her turn against him. Thankfully, she wasn't a heroine to hold a grudge and knew when to forgive. I thought she was a great character.
Evan was also amazing. He's been in love with Amelia since their childhood and always intended on marrying her, until, for a reason he didn't understand, she didn't want to speak to him anymore. But, when he was determined to have something, nothing was going to stop him. He was really sweet and adorable and I really liked him.
The romance was both sweet and spicy. Sweet, because Amelia and Evan has been in love so long, before a misunderstanding tore them apart. But, they found a way past that. And spicy because we're talking about years of longing finally coming to fruition. It was definitely hot. I thought these two were a lovely couple.
The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. The story was so sweet and lovely and I really enjoyed reading it. And the ending was perfect.
His for Christmas was a lovely historical romance novella and holiday read. It was sweet and steamy and just wonderful. If you want a quick, light, and great holiday read, then you definitely need to check this book out.
