Excerpt from The Petticoat Punishment:

“Don’t make your punishment worse than it has to be. This way.” He dropped his textbook on the table to lead me back to his room. Defeated, I followed.

Still, I pled with him down the narrow hall – “Brady, this has gone far enough, hasn’t it? Look, I’m sorry, but – ”

“You’re only sorry that you were found out, deviant.” He pushed open his bedroom door and let me in. “So, tonight’s discipline will reflect such deviance.”

When I saw it, I tried to backpedal from the room: a women’s knee-length dress, black with white polka dots, lay across Brady’s bed. A fluffy white petticoat, sheer hose, and black pumps were lined up neatly beside it. “No,” I groaned, mortified.

Petticoating was an old-fashioned punishment, and meant only for little boys, to humiliate them into good behavior. Being dressed as a woman…my stomach constricted with the shame.

“Yes.” Ethan closed the door behind us, as though making the space confidential. “Perhaps you’ll attract the man of your dreams?” he suggested.

I saw red, and whirled to face him, startling him. “Not a word,” I said lowly. “Or I’ll kill you.”

Death threats against prefects was, I’m almost positive, a demerit, but Ethan overlooked it. “Of course. Should I undress you, or will you do it yourself?”

I hopelessly surveyed the outfit. “I’ll do it.” I waited a beat for Ethan to excuse himself; when he didn’t, I snapped, “Alone.”

He shook his head. “I have to oversee all discipline myself.”

My god. But as I unbuttoned my shirt and lifted my undershirt over my head, it was with one eye on Ethan. I saw only the barest flicker of emotion cross his face, but…it was enough.

I willed myself not to go hot at Ethan’s gaze, even as I pushed my trousers off my hips. I toed off my shoes, stepped out of my trousers, and then let my hand hover the fly of my drawers. My heart thudded at this exhibitionism.

“Nolan.” Ethan’s voice was strained, and when I looked at him, he was as frozen as I was. “You haven’t got to….” He trailed off and nodded to my drawers.

“You wanted this. Pouf,” I said to him. With the way Ethan tensed, I knew I had been right about him, that he was just like me. And then I pushed down my drawers.
