Alexandra Stewart is dating the man of her dreams. But there’s a catch. The date is a masquerade and her Mr. Hot-Choc is gay, or so she thinks...

Family oriented Alexandra Stewart, known as Alex to family and friends, is in desperate need of money for her dad’s heart surgery. She is stoked when gorgeous, billionaire Jayden McCartney unexpectedly barges into her life and offers to help. On one condition. She must pretend to be his girlfriend. One look at Jay tells her to run in the opposite direction. He is too good-looking, too successful, and too rich for her liking. When she is told Jay is gay and that his family is matchmaking him with a woman he doesn’t love, she feels sorry for him. Thinking that she’d kill two birds with one stone, Alex agrees to the proposal. Now, the only problem is how does she prevent herself from falling madly in love with Jay when the way he looks at her makes her heart tremble and his touches set her body on fire?

Hot, recently single Jayden McCartney has to bring his girlfriend to his sister’s wedding in order to stop the matchmaking his grandmother has planned for him. Not in the mood for dating or a new woman after the discovery of his cheating ex, he hires a perfect candidate as his girlfriend in Alexandra Stewart. Alex, however, thinks he’s crazy. It’s only when he commits a sinful lie that would damage his manhood severely does she agree to help. He convinces her that he is gay and that the possibility of his family finding out would ruin them financially and socially. Now, Jay has to pretend to be batting for the other team, which turns out to be no easy task where the geeky turn sexy Alex is concerned because he wants her, and what Jay wants, he certainly will get.

Meet the Author

As a Cambodian-Kiwi growing up in a diverse cultural environment, Alexia finds romance and multicultural very fascinating. That’s why she likes to write about the relationship between two people from very different racial background falling in love, no matter if it is set in a contemporary or a fantasy world. Apart from working as a full time Medical Lab Scientist and occasionally losing herself in her own dream realm where hunky heroes and sweet heroines fight for their happily ever after, she loves self-cultivation, is fascinated about Bazi (four pillar of destiny), and dreams of one day having her very own chef to cook her amazing food every day. She is currently working on a series of romance and young adult books. okay but could have been better

even though this is not a new plot, this book could have been better. the characters were VERY one-dimensional (i.e. bad people were really bad and female lead was very nice, sweet, etc.) the hero seemed very naive about human nature given that he was supposedly a successful billionaire and grandma changed her attitude after just one confrontation with her grandson (really? you should have said something sooner!) some of the situations were puzzling, there didn't seem to be a reason other than to show how bad/ugly/naive the characters could be. but it was free and there was a HEA ending.

    Meh

Poorly written with shallow characterizations. Moreover, the male love interest was a tool. Very unfortunate as the premise had potential.

Characters had no zing. I was skipping over chunks by end. Three stars is a stretch...

    Thumbs half up

I liked the book and would read more by this author, but it was not 5 star book because the people were too good or too bad. Not very realistic.

I really enjoyed this cute romance. flows nicely, sweet characters, I would recommend to those 15+, only because of a couple of paragraphs that are not appropriate for younger kiddo's.

His Hired Girlfriend is a book I'd let my teen daughter read. Very clean and does seem to revolve around family. Although I couldn't stand Jay's grandmother, Alex was an adorable character.
