Meet the Author

Though Beth Andrews still happily lives in her small hometown in Northwestern Pennsylvania, she was blessed with a vivid imagination—which means she's spent most of her life lost in her own world. As a stay-at-home mother of three children, she decided to put her stories on paper and pursue her dream of becoming a published author. After much trial and error, Beth discovered her writing process—daydreaming, mumbling to herself, playing Spider Solitaire…and writing, of course.

Beth's emotionally intense stories are balanced with just a hint of snark, which has netted her three Golden Heart finals and in 2007—a coveted win. Her winning manuscript, Not Without Her Family, sold to Harlequin Superromance—marking the achievement of her original dream and the beginning of what she hopes is a long career writing the stories she loves.

When Beth's not writing (or daydreaming, mumbling to herself or playing Spider Solitaire) she can be found making some of the many recipes she collects, redecorating her home or stringing beads together. She has been honored by her kids as "The Only Mom in Town Who Makes Her Children Do Chores" and "The Meanest Mom in the World"—as if there's something wrong with counting down the remaining days of summer vacation until school starts again. To learn more about Beth, her books or to get her latest favorite recipe, check out her Web site.

    more from this reviewer

This is an enjoyable romantic suspense

His client hires private investigator Dean Garret to track down a missing daughter and grandson. He travels to Serenity Springs, New York where he meets bar owner Allison Martin. Dean believes the former lawyer turned barkeeper knows what he seeks so he obtains work at her place.

Allison is attracted to her new employee, but her gut tells her he is concealing something critical from her. Dean also finds himself falling in love with his new boss, but strongly believes she knows where the runaway mom and son are hiding. Both fears their relationship will end before it begins if the hidden truth each possesses comes out; however, without honesty a relationship will die.

This is an enjoyable romantic suspense due to the lead couple who fall in love but he is caught between his desire and his undercover job. The story line is tense mostly because of Dean who is unsure what to do about HIS SECRET AGENDA; unaware that she also has a secret agenda. Beth Andrews provides a super taut thriller as the conflicted couple Dean and Allison believe doing the right thing will leave them alone, but doing wrong will leave them alone anyway.
