Editorial Reviews

Southwest Blend Magazine
It is said a picture is worth a thousand words, and once again, Turner Publishing with the help of author Sandra Fye, has put together an amazing volume of photos depicting the everyday life and evolution of Albuquerque, New Mexico over a span of two centuries. It is a collection of well-chosen, uniquely different photographs accompanied by concise captions that take you back to the early days of this dynamic city.

A coffee table book fascinating enough to grab the attention of family and friends after the owner thoroughly thumbs through the pages, Historic Photos of Albuquerque offers an intimate view of life in New Mexico's largest city covering more than two centuries. Author Sandra Fye haunted the top state archives to gather about 200 black and white photographs dating from the city's founding in 1706, as a Spanish outpost to the late 1900's, and chronicling its distinct neighborhoods of Old Town and New Town. Many previously never published.
The scenes culled by the author from the photograph archives at the University of New Mexico Research and the Albuquerque Museum reflect a diverse and progressive spirit that is the foundation of the city's present-day prosperity . . .
—Dianne Stallings
New Mexico Magazine
. . . the photos- many taken by William Henry Cobb or his wife, Eddie Ross Cobb- are captivating on their own. Other Photos include luminaries who visited Albuquerque: Hal Roach's Little Rascals, of the Our Gang comedies, Rin Tin Tin and his owner; and Albert Einstein- all photographed on the train. The book is a joy to peruse, and a celebration of Albuquerque.
