Meet the Author

George R. Hanlin worked at the Indiana Historical Society for eleven years, editing award-winning books such as Indiana in Stereo: Three-Dimensional Views of the Heartland and Skirting the Issue: Stories of Indiana's Historical Women Artists. He also helped produce the Society's illustrated magazine, Traces of Indiana and Midwestern History. He studied journalism, Spanish and history at Indiana University and currently works for FlashPoint, a human-resource consulting firm in Indianapolis. He is a sixth-generation Hoosier, raised in Jay County on a farm his family has owned since 1837.
