Founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1817 as one of the first public universities in the nation, the University of Michigan moved to Ann Arbor in 1837. What started as a forty-acre campus with four buildings, expanded over the next 170 years to become a university with four campuses: Central, Athletic, Medical and North. It has become one of the most distinguished universities in the world. Meet the Author

Michael Chmura has a bachelor's degree in English from Alma College. She received her master's degree in Information Science and her teaching certification from the University of Michigan. She worked at the University before her current career as a school librarian. Michael co-owns a software and web design company with her husband, David. She has lived in Ann Arbor for 11 years.

Christina M. Consolino received her Bachelor of Arts and Doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan. After living in Ann Arbor for twelve years, she moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she currently teaches Anatomy and Physiology at Sinclair Community College. Christina resides with her husband, Timothy, their three children, two cats, and one dog. This is her first non-scientific publication.
