Overview

Jackson thought he knew what love was and feels like he missed his chance at happiness. He realizes he wasted his chance by chasing after one-night stands instead of going after what he really wanted.

Kaylie knows what loss feels like and doesn't want to take a chance on love. She puts up walls to keep her heart protected from experiencing that kind of pain again.

What happens when a guy who refuses to lose out again meets a girl who resists him as much as she can? Will Jackson be able to hit the wall Kaylie has put up and knock it down?

This is book two in the Blythe College series, but it features a new couple and does not have a cliffhanger.

Meet the Author

I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

I love the story of Jackson and Kaylie! I think I found another book boyfriend in Jackson too! Jackson is a guy who thought he knew what love was until Kaylie came into his life. He had been sleeping with random girls for so long trying to get his ‘bachelor days’ out of his system so he could have a life with Lex until she was taken by Drake. Poor Jackson though! Little did he know that he would soon be swept off his feet! Kaylie knows who Jackson is and knows about his reputation. She agrees to go out with him as a ‘thank you’ for a good deed she did for him which turns out to be a date. Sparks fly and passion builds between the two. I really liked Kaylie! For the most part, she was a secure female lead which you don’t find that often. She may have doubted things every so often but for the most part she was secure with herself and everything around her. Jackson was intense! You saw how protective he was over Kaylie and how also how passionate he was. I loved everything he did for their first date and how he wanted everything to be so perfect! It was like Hugh Hefner transitioned into Prince Charming the way his personality changed just by meeting someone that he truly cared about. (He still had a bit of a freaky side in bed though) The most swoon-worthy part though was when he stood by her when it came to interacting with her aunt! Not many guys would do that…. Most would have been intimidated and ran! This story was great and I give it a phenomenal 4.5 stars because I was able to get my romance without wanting to pull my hair out or throw my kindle. Sometimes we just want to read a romance and enjoy it! It’s told from both Kaylie and Jackson’s POV.

Hit The Wall is book two in the Blythe College Series. I think you may be able to read this as a stand alone. You get enough background information needed in Hit the Wall not to be lost when reading if you have not read the first one Push the Envelope. I loved Push the Envelope and would recommend reading it first. We meet Jackson in Push the Envelope, in that one he thinks he is in love with Lex. In Hit the Wall Jackson finds out what love is. It's a really sweet story. There is not a lot of angst in it. Jackson has been a player in the past and when he meets Kaylie he know he wants to change his ways. Jackson and Kaylie are great characters. They don't keep secrets and when talking they have very little filters. They keep it real. There are some really funny scenes in the story. My favorite line is "Surprised you in a good way like a present you were really hoping for on Christmas morning or in a bad way like finding out you picked up a bad flu bug from kissing me?" If you are looking for a great, sweet, story with no cliffhanger, then this is the story for you.

Am really liking Rochelle Paige's writing. Not a real fan of NA, (usually too immature!) so I appreciated that they were at least seniors! And once again she wrote a really sexy story with a great alpha. Hope her next book comes out soon!

4.5 Stars Rating:4.5 Stars Jackson just missed his chance on the person he thought he had loved for a while. It hurt him, but he wanted her happy. After all, she was one of his closest friends. What he didn’t realize, that he could feel a stronger, more powerful emotion than what he felt for Lex. "When I say that when you meet the RIGHT ONE, you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt. And I don’t think you’re the type of guy who would spend a couple of years messing around with girls when she’s right there in front of you." Much as I enjoy Lex & Drake’s story, I wanted an HEA for Jackson as well. After all, he’s a great guy who knows how to look after his friends despite the fact that he sleeps around, and shags every girl he encounters. He tells that he needed to sow his wild oats before finally settling down, only that the girl he was waiting for already found someone else before he put a break on his sleeping-around-marathon. He met Kaylie unexpectedly – I like her character. She wasn’t a complicated person, neither she was over emotional. This girl may have suffered a deep sense of loss when she lost people close to her at a young age, and she had no room for love as of now. She needed to focus on one thing only: DANCE. Unlike some, she wanted to dance right out of college. It wasn’t just a hobby for her, it was her passion. Everything in her life was orderly, until she came face to face with Jackson. The pull was instant, and unlike before, Jackson didn’t feel like waiting. He wanted to claim her, but he was patient enough to wait until she was ready to sleep with him – pretty much an effort for a guy who gets an invite to bed by every girl he approaches. But, he knew he needed to have her, needed to consume her, and needed to be with her. So imagine my surprise when he started to woo her. Not really the conventional type of woo – he invites her to date (which was really way out of his norms), and spends his time with her. But Kaylie has walls surrounding her heart, and she had some fear of what exactly to do right after graduation. She was sure of what her direction in life would be, until him. Now, how can she tell him of her plans? A guy who just had his heart broken, and a girl who had her heart in between tall walls, would there ever be a future between them? I like this novel because it was (for me) a light read, it didn’t take soooo much drama, but still it had piqued my interest. At first, I was like – how can he possibly forget about Lex in a matter of time, and just went straight into Kaylie – well, I’m glad Rochelle Paige handled the transition well and gave a rationalization that seemed plausible. I like how the story went, I loved the characters, and most especially, I love his kink. OMG. He’s totally hotter in bed than Drake – I can’t believe it! Totally! Well, I was quite expecting quite a big drama at the ending, something with a big blast to end everything up, it didn’t happen – instead I was rewarded with a mellow, heartwarming and feel-good that filled me with content. Can’t wait for the next one in this series! ¿Complimentary Copy was given in exchange for an honest review.¿
