This book covers a subject that was not well addressed in my US public school education: How could a smart people (the Germans) support a maniacal, crazy dictator that was leading his country to ruin? Though it is a little hard to plow through (it is a history book, after all), all the supporting data and different angles from which the question is answered paints a well organized picture of how this happened in the 20th century. It doesn't take too much thinking to see that it can happen again in any modern society.
This is must reading for any student of history and anyone who wants to be an informed voter in a modern society.
