All Music Guide - Roch Parisien
The album is a long overdue anthology of one of Canada's most celebrated ex-pats, Joni Mitchell. She sanctioned the release only on the condition that she be allowed to compile companion album Misses. While the 15-strong Hits focuses on her earlier folk-pop crossover successes, many made famous initially by others "Both Sides Now," "Woodstock," "The Circle Game", Misses is a personal cross section of her more challenging early material and more recent recordings -- the riveting "The Wolf That Lives in Lindsey" from Mingus is especially enlightening. Hit Greatest Hits Album

Have you ever bought someone's "greatest hits" album and wondered why your favorites aren't on it? Well, not so with this album. This is a terrific greatest hits album - a fun listen for fans and a great intro to Joni Mitchell for folks who don't know her work. In fact, it's this album which got me into Mitchell - and my husband and I now own most of her albums. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Great retro album; some forgotten favorites.

I have been a Joni Mitchell fan since college. My son, who has graduated from college, was playing this CD in his car. I was totally shocked that he even knew who she was. Hearing it brought back memories. I bought it and absolutely love it.

Great voice but not many great songs

Joni had one of the best voices of any female recording artist in the 1970's. She doesn't, however, have a lot of great songs. I like "Big Yellow Taxi," "Woodstock," "Carey," "Free Man in Paris" and "Chelsea Morning." The other songs I didn't care for. Play the samples and decide for yourself. I also wish she would have just used her piano on "Woodstock" instead of an organ. The version she did at the "Isle of Wright" concert in 1970 with the piano is the best.

Hits, is a must have for any Joni Mitchell Fan!

I really love this CD. Hits has all the best of Joni Mitchell. All her songs are so personable but fun to listen to and sing along to. I love every song from her early songs like "Big Yellow Taxi" & "The Circle Game" to her Jazzier songs like "Raised on Robbery" & "Help Me." My personal favorite, "Free Man in Paris." So whatever style of Joni's music you like, you'll love this CD.
