Meet the Author

Sally-Anne Lambert was born in New Zealand. Her Celtic-English parents gave her a heritage to search. Her upbringing also included being raised as a Samoan and ongoing Samoan stepfamily influence after leaving home. In La'ie, Hawai'i, Sally-Anne learned of other Pacific Island and Pacific Rim languages, through direct contact with people and culture. The journey through culture was extremely rich and personal. From age twenty-six, Sally-Anne began a more focused quest to discover universal principles in linguistics through better understanding of language families and types. She began working on the New Zealand Maori Word Encyclopedia, with some initial help from the New Zealand government and Maori native training programs. A Mayflower descendant, Sally-Anne believes Native American language revival is linked to the fortunes of America. The Hlingit Word Encyclopedia brings together new principles to enlighten world linguistics and move it into the twenty-first century. Both books are intensely practical. Seven other works remain in process.
