Hold Tight!: The Best of the Fontana Years

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stewart Mason
The most entertainingly named band of the '60s has never been well-served on CD in the United States, where it had only a few very minor hits. The Collectables CD Hold Tight!: The Best of the Fontana Years continues the trend, unfortunately. The subtitle is misleading, since for some reason many of the group's biggest and best hits of its 1966-1969 tenure at Fontana Records aren't included. But this isn't the group's best work, or at least it's not all of it. Mid-priced import collections are much more comprehensive. Even more unforgivably, Collectables' cut-rate design team consistently misspell singer John "Beaky" Diamond's nickname as "Breaky" everywhere except the front cover. Tacky, tacky, tacky.
