Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"A heartfelt story of the women who catch us when we fall-the sisters and friends who hold up the sky and show us who we were meant to be."
-Lisa Wingate, author of The Summer Kitchen

"Patricia Sprinkle takes us deep into the thoughts and feelings of four women who realize the only way to true strength is to share their faith, their hearts and each other's lives. A beautiful and thoroughly southern story of the enduring bond of women's friendships through the seasons of the year and the seasons of life. Sprinkle knows this world and we are lucky that in her lyrical language she shares it with us!"
-Patti Callahan Henry, national bestselling author of Driftwood Summer

Everyone keeps secrets. Patricia Sprinkle, a master story teller, shares the downfalls of keeping those secrets in an authentic and masterful way. In her down-to-earth novel, the author creates a great mix of characters, who just like in real life, some would be a blast to hang out with, while others may annoy you. A wonderful southern tale that weaves life lessons throughout, the author shows us to how to make it through tough times and come out better on the other side. To do so, we must move from independence to interdependence. Hold up the sky is one those books that never touched one of my bookmarks and made it to my list of favorites. You are guaranteed to enjoy this read.

I've read just about everything she has written and this one takes on a whole new direction in writing for her. This is a comfortable, enthralling story - the kind you cannot put down because you truly care what is going to happen next. She creates believable people in her characters and you become emotionally invested in their lives. My only problem is that I can read the book faster than she can write the next one!

In this very southern story four women's lives become intertwined as they face struggles that they are trying very hard to keep secret. We are first introduced to Bille and her issues with a handicapped daughter and meet other women that touch her life. Each of these women also have a secret that they are keeping. They come to discover by working together they have help to face what life throws at them. This book is tiny bit romance, tiny bit mystery and a real good look at some issues facing single women today. I think many women will feel the stong connection that the characters have and want to share the story with a friend.

This book was hard to put down! As I am a southern girl, I could relate to a lot. I was so taken by Mrs. Sprinkle's style of writing, I bought "The Remembrance Box" and its sequel.
