AN ALL-NEW PLAY-BY-PLAY NOVELLA

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jaci Burton’s “must-read” (Fresh Fiction) Play-By-Play series now arouses the sexy holiday spirit as a passionate young couple discovers the boundless rewards of pleasure.

All Elizabeth and Gavin Riley want for Christmas is a baby. Despite over a year of trying, conception hasn’t been successful. But for a high-achiever like Elizabeth, she must succeed at everything. That means making the very most of every opportunity with her husband. And when it comes to nonstop sex Gavin’s not really complaining. Exhausted, maybe...

Unfortunately, this holiday season they’re not exactly given a lot of private time. Elizabeth is hosting the holiday, Gavin’s sister is getting married, and the house is wall-to-wall with family. For Elizabeth and Gavin the nights may be chilly, but the urge is still hot. And they’re not about to let any distraction get in the way of their necessary pleasures during a holiday game that yields so many unexpected surprises.

Includes a preview of Jaci Burton's upcoming novels Melting the Ice and Hope Flames.

As usual with any book in the Play by Play series, you will be filled with a sense of family and rightness. HOLIDAY GAMES was a slice of life in the Riley family, and it was a deliciously sweet visit with some of my absolutely favorite characters.

This story centers around the holidays and especially Gavin and Liz, who are trying to get pregnant. You know what my favorite part is? Liz is still Liz. Unapologetic and determined to get what she wants. She’s not turned into a mushy submissive woman that does everything her man says. She gives as good as she gets. She demands things herself. And she takes. She is my absolutely favorite female so far in this series. We are also seeing Ty and Jenna’s wedding planning excitement! Another one of my fave couples.

HOLIDAY GAMES is still and extremely sweet, family centered story but don’t let it fool you… it packs a lot of HEAT!

If you have a love for these characters, you’re going to love this story. Although it does stand well on its own, I would recommend you read it as part of the series.

    It was okay.

I thought this story was pretty boring and unnecessary.

Jaci Burton is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I lov

Jaci Burton is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I love her fast-paced books and diverse characters. I selected this novella to review because I love Jaci Burton and I love Christmas books. I haven’t read any of her Play-by-Play books yet but after today, they are moving to the top of my TBR list!

I really enjoyed this novella. Liz and Gavin are trying to have a baby. While Liz is success-driven in her professional life, her personal life is no exception. After a year of trying with no luck, Liz is starting to get discouraged. Deciding to try harder, she deploys “Operation Make A Baby” and is all over Gavin while juggling work, a wedding, and planning Christmas dinner for the entire family. Liz and Gavin get hot and heavy in some very interesting places. The steam factor is scorching!

Jenna and Ty also get married in the book as well. It’s wonderful to see the family get-togethers, the hilarious bachelorette party in Jamaica, and a more mature Nathan bringing home his new girlfriend to meet the family for the first time. There was nothing about the story that I didn’t love. A quick, sexy read full of fun, family, love and lots of baby-making sex J

I received an ebook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own.

This was a fun holiday story that centered on Liz and Gavin's attempt at having a baby. Liz is a person who goes after what she wants and always gets it, except when she wants a baby. It was been a year of trying and still no success. In the meantime, the family is preparing for Jenna and Ty wedding and the holidays are just around the corner. Liz gets it in her head that she is going to have sex with Gavin everyday until she is pregnant. It's fun seeing all the places they come up with! ;) The wedding goes off perfectly, but Liz feels like she is coming down with the flu. This is not good since Christmas dinner is at their house. It's Christmas Eve and Liz doesn't feel sick anymore but she is trying to get everything ready and becoming "out of her mind" as Gavin put it. It is her first Riley holiday and she wants it just perfect. After she sends Gavin to the grocery story for the 25th time, he calls his mom. She understands and says she will come over with his aunt and they will help. It is now Christmas day and she is woken up in her favorite way by Gavin. Liz feels blessed and realizes that her Christmas is perfect. Little does she know that her Christmas gift will be the best one she has ever gotten from Gavin.

Rating: 3.5 Stars In Holiday Games by Jaci Burton, the holidays

    Rating: 3.5 Stars

In Holiday Games by Jaci Burton, the holidays are coming, her sister in law's wedding is approaching, and Liz would like nothing more than to get pregnant with Gavin's baby. If you'd asked Liz a few years ago if she dreamed of marriage and a baby, she would have honestly said no. Now though, Liz can think of nothing better.

Liz has loved Gavin forever, and is living her dream life now as part of the Riley family. Liz and Gavin have a great relationship and have been trying for over a year to get pregnant with no luck...but Liz doesn't let this stop her adventurous ways, her love of life and family, and preparing to host the entire Riley family for Christmas! Liz is determined to get pregnant, but some things even Liz has no control over! Will she get her Christmas wish this year?

Holiday Games is a fast paced, energetic read. There is no real drama...there is a lot of love, laughter, and hope. The concept of not being able to have a baby has the potential to really create havoc in a character's life, but Liz is mature and is not letting the whole baby issue rule her life. Holiday Games brings other characters into the story line, and I admit that it is a bit confusing and 'noisy' if you haven't read the other stories...but they all add strength and backbone to the family that is the Riley's. Jenna's wedding plays an important role in Holiday Games also, and it shows the strength and togetherness of the Riley's.

Holiday Games is a perfect length novella for the story that had to be told, but I would recommend it as an addition to the other stories in this series instead of a stand alone. It is a fun catch up story for new and old of the Riley's.

I'd recommend Holiday Games for a romance reader looking for a lot of steam, very little drama, and some holiday fun with a big, boisterous family!
