A Soldier For All Seasons by Rachel Lee
U.S. Marine Jon Erikson needed to find peace this holiday season. But attraction sparked when he met park ranger Melinda Hawthorne--a woman also haunted by secrets. Venturing into a perilous wilderness would test their survival skills and growing desire...
Christmas at His Command by Catherine Mann
Keeping Senator Ginger Landis safe was General Hank Renshaw's top priority. He wouldn't let anything put her at risk--including his growing feelings for her. Danger threw them intimately together, taking them to a passionate point of no return.
The first story of this book, by Rachel Lee, is fairly good. However, the story is so short. Within a page or whatever he goes from not wanting to be involved with anyone to being totally in love with her. Personally, that's a little crazy. There was no development in the romance, whatsoever.
The second book was hard for me to get into. The characters are 55 and 49 years old. Sorry, but that really doesn't get me into the story. I've got nothing against hearing that they find love in each other, I mean that's great, but I'm not particularly thrilled with the romance.
All in all, not the best short romance. I was expecting more and I got a hundred page story of two people who have no idea what their mind or heart is telling them to. The second story was better in the way of romance developing, but I liked the first story better.
