Hollywood Swinging will keep you turning the pages and long after you've turned the final page, you will long for the story to continue. It was so nice to catch up on the lives of Shontae and Devin after meeting them in Hot Fun in the Summertime. Shontae, being an author must adapt to Hollywood living when her husband, Devin, becomes the hottest thing on the big screen. But can this Jersey girl handle all the glitz, glamour, and drama and

    Welcome to the Good Life

We all have a past. However for individuals in the public eye, sometimes their past is something they would rather forget ever happened. They hope that no one ever wants to take their skeletons out of the closet and bring them to light. In Hollywood Swinging by Chicki Brown, newlyweds, Shontae Nichols and Devon Burke were busy focusing on their careers and the love they have for each other. Devon is finishing up one movie and preparing for the release of another movie he finished a few months back. Someone in their life is trying their best to break them up. What extreme will this person go to in order to see these two in divorce court? After getting married, Devon and Shontae relocate to California from the east coast, so that Devon could continue to make a name for himself in Hollywood. While he has a few friends there, Shontae left all hers behind. Devon encourages her to go out and meet new people. Shontae finds a writers group that she likes. That's where she meets Monica. Monica is an aspiring author and wants to become Shontae's protégé. She is so excited she wants to introduce her to Devon, but for some reason they always seem to miss each other. Until one day the opportunity presents itself and Devon is not as receptive of Monica as Shontae had hoped. What is it about Monica that made Devon's blood boil? Devon's mother and Shontae do not necessarily see eye-to-eye. Out of love for her husband, Shontae tries her best to kindle a relationship with her mother-in-law, Olivia. Shontae thought maybe she could impress Olivia by asking her to attend her book signing of her new release. However, things do not go exactly like she would have hoped and from there it gets worse. Will the wedge between these two continue to grow bigger and bigger? I have read all of Chicki Brown's books; this by far is my favorite. It may be because I had a connection with the main characters from her sophomore release. Whatever it was, I really enjoyed this at times fast pace, then a little slower; just enough for me to catch my breath. As a reader, I should know to expect the unexpected, but I left myself wide open for a couple of scene I did not see coming. And I found myself with my mouth hanging open. I hope the final draft of Hollywood Swinging was properly edited, because I am highly recommending this book to readers of romance and contemporary fiction. The author provided an uncorrected copy of the e-book for review purposes. Jennifer Coissiere APOOO BookClub

    Great Book

Hollywood Swinging is an excellent romance story. Shontae and Devon get married and move to Hollywood. A wrench is thrown into the works when Devon's mother follows them to California. Ms. Brown weaves the story expertly. The plot is outstanding, keeping your interest through the entire book.

Another Great Book From Ms. Brown

Ms. Brown's third novel is just as good as her first two! Hollywood Swinging is the story of a newlywed couple who are trying to make a life for themselves in a new city. There's a little bit of romance, a bit of mystery and some thrills. The characters are three-dimensional and endearing. The story is entertaining and well-developed. All in all this is a great read and I wish Ms. Brown every success with it.

    Great book!

Chicki Brown has a way with words and in Hollywood Swinging she puts them to good use.
I found myself drawn into the book with the way she made the characters deep and interesting. I could picture them in mind along with each and every setting that they entered. Her descriptions left very little to have to be imagined as she always gave you a full visual to complete your mental picture.
The plot line in the story was well written. There was no useless fluff in the book to fill the pages. Each and every conversation had meaning and caused you to wonder how the story would end. What made it even better to me was that it was actually a believable story that could not only happen, but probably has more times than we might know.
I also loved that Phe got a happy ending too! I applaud Chicki Brown on this book and look forward to reading more of her work.
