    Great!

This was an excellent digital copy! It was very easy to navigate, as advertised. To the person complaining that it didn't have 1 and 2 maccabees... Did you try download a free sample of this to see if it did? Because it sure does.

    Great bible

I'm not sure what all the complaints in the reviews are about. I was hesitant to purchase this bible because of them, but I finally caved in and bought it. The formatting is probably the best I've seen in the dozen or so bible's I've bought so far. I don't know if the mentioned problems existed and were fixed before I bought my copy or not, but I do know I have no issues whatsoever with my copy. Thank you to the publisher.

    Are there 3 Catholic NABs?

Ever since the NAB-RE came out the Catholic NAB that we used in Catholic School in the 70s has been hard to find. I have a copy somewhere in the archives of boxes at home. The New Testament was revised in 1986 if memory serves me well and I do have a copy of that version which is the version that is still used in the English Lectionary at Mass in the U.S. The OT of the NAB matches the Lectionary. The OT of the NAB-RE has undergone its first revision in decades and no longer matches the Lectionary. The U.S. Bishops did not bring the OT revisions of NAB-RE into the Lectionary. The 1986 edition of NAB's NT was brought forth unchanged into the NAB-RE because the NAB-RE's NT matches the Lectionary word for word. Now we come to this Nook layout of the "NAB Catholic Edition" which to my surprise matches neither the Lectionary, the NAB we had in Catholic school nor the NAB-RE. The style of English in both Old and New Testaments is an older style like the Douay-Rheims but this NAB doesn't match Douay-Rheim's OT or NT either. I did not know of the existence of this NAB that predates the NAB we used in Catholic School. Regarding the version itself its layout with spacing between verses is very nice for the eyes. I find navigating through it to be quite easy. Unlike the experience described in some earlier reviews I find all Biblical Books present and accounted for. I wish this version had some background information on its when, where, how, why and by whom it came about. Alas, no background is given. If Nook can find this version surely it can find the NAB version of my youth and the NAB version with the 1986 NT revision. I would also welcome the Knox Bible translated by Msgr. Ronald A.Knox, a convert to Catholicism. It is said to be the best 20th Century translation, approved for liturgical use and was endorsed by Pope Pius XII and Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

    A must have!

I was very reluctant to purchase this due to the negative comments about navigation and missing sections. I finally bought it and have yet to be disappointed. Perhaps the author should release a "How to navigate on your Nook" book for those that don't know how to use it.

    Thank you for this Bible.

    A definite must!

This is hands-down the best e-bible I've seen so far on my Nook. The formatting is superbly done. If I could go with 10 stars, I would.

You cannot navigae this bible. I called and reported he problem and they agreed that they had some navigation issues and promised to fix them. I have yet to see it repaired. I'm not happy at all!

WHERE IS THE NEW AMERICAN BIBLE?

As another reviewer commented. The Catholic Church in the United States uses the NEW AMERICAN BIBLE translation. It is not truncated as many protestant translations are, so we really need to have a Nook compatible version. I have one on my iPhone that is really easy to use. Can't this be adapted to Nook?

    I Also Recommend:

    There is not such translation

The title is confusingly similar to New American Bible. When you read it closer you notice that it's New American Edition, yet no such translation exists. After my disappointment with this one, I did find a good NABRE, which has an official imprimatur. I recommend that one.

    Not New American Bible

This is not the New American Bible. It does not have the IMPRIMATUS and the wording is different from the New American Bible. Fraud?

    Where is Maccabees?

They say this is a NAB version, but it is missing 1 and 2 maccabees by the look of the description.

    Not the New American Bible!

I saw this title and was glad to see it for .99. Then I found out this is not the New American Bible that is used by the Catholic Church and in the English speaking world as the standard version today. Be careful about what you're reading, there are many people and groups who have taken their thoughts on the bible, and then spread them to the public.

    Very frustrated!

Once again, I am having to call customer service to unfreeze this bible, this will make the second time. This time they were unable to unfreeze it and said it would require me to reset everything including re-registering the nook. I believe I will forget this. Too much hassle I would like my money back.
