As a Financial Advisor, I would recommend this book for my clients.

I find Home Buying by the Experts an extremely valuable tool for everyone from young families purchasing their first home to those whom are purchasing multiple properties for investment reasons. The tools and knowledge you will find in the book will help bring clarity to the decision making process and help reduce any feelings of anxiety. In all, Home Buying by the Experts helps simplify what is often times a very stressful and intimidating experience in someone¿s life and increases the chance of the outcome being as positive as it can be.

    Great book! Highly recommended!

i wish I this book was written before I bought my first property. I learned some things about buying my homes by trial and error, but this book really informs the reader as to what to do, look out for, and plan for in the purchase of a new home. I highly recommend this book to anyone even the least bit interested in buying property. Its worth much more than the asking price.

A MUST READ BOOK FOR ALL NEW HOMEBUYERS

This book is so informative. It goes over everything from getting a loan to the buying process, escrow, title, closing, move out timeline, & tax benefit. My wife & I are first time home buyer & this book made us feel really comfortable & ready to buy our 1st home. And best of all we can get a rebate back which will help us greatly w/ our closing cost. I am recommending this book to all of my friends.

    Good authors, great book

I've bought and sold three houses. Wish I'd had this book about twenty years ago. There's really great info on loans, on when to buy and sell, on home inspections (something I didn't know a great deal about that cost me tens of thousands on my second home) and really helpful checklists. For me, the best feature was the Negotiating Strategies chapter. I think that like a lot of women, this isn't my strongest point. Highly recommended. Thanks!

WISH I HAD THIS BOOK YEARS AGO

Being a single woman I have felt taken advantage of everytime I bought a house. I wish Brian and Lori would have written this book years ago. I shall not go without it should I decide to ever buy a house again. As a matter of fact, I might take Brian and Lori with me the next time I'm ready to close escrow.

Better Than Most in its Class

I'm usually not a fan of the 'how-to' book, especially when it covers complex topics. One author rambles endlessly about their own experiences, or gives overly simplistic explanations that have little or no practical application. Oddly, I found this book quite different. It's set up in two parts: the first is several chapters, each written by different authors who are experts in their fields and the second is a resource guide. What makes this book a standout is that the experts in question, are actually EXPERT in their area of business. They provide clear, concise, useful information about home buying, including everything from no money down purchases to finding a good inspector, from selecting a good realtor to understanding bidding and closing, from getting the best loan to making the most of the tax benefits available to you. These chapters are all accessible, practical, have examples and thoughtful checklists and with one exception, are fairly outstanding. The only chapter (and thankfully, the shortest) that wasn't very inspiring was the motivational material provided by Brian Tracy. Not really my thing anyway, and I'm plenty motivated to buy a home, especially now that I've got some high-end advice by way of these authors. The second part of the book was also worthwhile. It has great lists, checklists, Top 10 Mistakes, Top 10 Tax Savings, forms, etc. There's also a section on Internet Resources and a fairly comprehensive glossary. The bottom line is that I like this book better than the '100 Questions You Should Ask' or the 'For Dummies' genres. Why? Because I feel like I'm getting priceless advice from people who actually know what they're talking about. The person who wrote the Dummies book can't possibly know EVERYTHING about tax issues, real estate, mortgages, inspections, contracts, closing, negotiating, etc. Get my point? I'd rather have different authors, each writing on their area of expertise. Makes more sense to me.
